Soi 33 V Nana

Hi Guys
Just wondering what the real comparisons are between these two locations, I understand that Soi33,s ladies are generally more refined (I know that basically they are all the same) but one of the hotels Im looking at (Lotus) is in this area and Im giving it serious consideration. Have any BM,s visited both??

i've stayed at lotus a few times. ok hotel. make sure you stress that you want a king size bed, they are always trying to put you in a bed with 2 rooms and they are real small beds

as far as soi 33 itself. wasnt really my thing and if you read any of my threads i do like higher end places but i just think these are boring

Soi 33 is dramatically more expensive.. drinks, lady drinks, bar fines, etc many multiples of what it costs at other areas.. Personally the 'piano bar' atmosphere of dressed up brass in cocktail dress style just felt naff and cheezy to me.. Then again to someone else I guess bikini clad pole polishers may appear cheesy, not sure who but I guess someone ...

Cowboy is probably my prefered night zone.. Just seemed the friendliest and least demanding and plenty of good looking women.. Nana a close run with PP down the list.

Soi 33 can be sampled at 1/2 price happy hour until about 9ish.. I guess soupa boy will know when the happy hours start and finish.

I personally like Soi 33, depends how long you're there for. If you in and out and looking for some action you get slammed with full ticket for the girls. Which is around 3000 long time if your lucky. On the whole, these girls I find are far better looking than what you can find in Soi Cowboy.

Soi cowboy is no strings attatched, the girls in 33 will linger about a bit longer, call a bit more often, all the regular bullsh1t associated with paying for play, these girls are truely after the dream of finding a farang that will take them out of scene for good. Generally speaking of course.

The prices for beers/girls/food on 33 commands a certain type of farang to go there. A person not happy paying 3000 long time would have no interest in this place, the more executive guy who doesn't mind spending a bit more will go to 33. A lot of farangs who work in Bangkok actually regular 33, hence why they have been able to maintain a steady level of service.

Check out a bar called Lookie Lookie on 33/4 Wall St, pretty good place with pool table, and the old classics. Girls in there are above average looks wise, if your going to these places it's far more economical to get a bottle of burbon/whiskey which sets you back 900 baht this comes with unlimted soda/ice/coke, works out better and lady drinks come to 100 baht.

The place is less busier than your cowboy's or nana's and the level of service is a bit more personal.

The Office is a good joint (really good steak here), Van Gough's on this a good place if you want to see some really well dressed ladies.

And if your not interested paying girls or bf them which 1500 is the norm in 33, just wait untill the bar closes offer to take the girl out for some late dinner or another club, 8/10 times she will say yes and you will be coping some action here. A guy I knew took us out to dinner with 10 girls. we were the only two guys, I ended up taking 3 ladies back to their place and drinking some more, I got too plastered that I passed out

Ohh the memories of 33, i'll be back fooo shooo.

Actually LivinLOS..... I tend to agree with you.... Cowboy was always where i drink first BKK... I find it the most relaxed out of the 3..... Nana second..... Patpong i generally dont drink down there.... I just find it to much hassle compared to Cowboy... Its always busy with the tourists who are there in the clubs AND the night Market.... Cowboy i dunno just feels more relaxing...

But that really is just my opinion... From what i have read on here a lot of people like Nana more.

Its not the money really.. I am not really unhappy to pay 3k LT.. Hell its not even unusual for me to drop >10k in a night on taking a roomfull of girls so it cant be the cash side..

Admitedly I have only done the soi twice.. First time we trawled around.. Went in one bar with all white decor and all white dressed women in evening gowns etc.. Well apart from the fact thay hadnt set the makup gun to ***** and the clothes covered a bit more its the same issan workforce as far as I could see, just dusted off and with the rice paddy a little bit less visible.

We also had girls telling us 'just wait an hour and we close no BF' which I guess is more common with such high BF's and guys trying to avoid them.. When we declined and moved on to another bar they were pushing numbers on us for 'after the bar' so again its not the costs.

More that it was a cocktail dress faux sophisicated scene that just looked so fake as to seem silly to me.. We found a 2 floor pool hall type place in a side soi off 33 that had some fun girls and was ok.. Personally I just find that putting a farm girl in a cocktail dress and pearls doesnt change much, it was still the hello, where you from, what your name, you like me, type conversations..

Just not my scene.. Each to thier own.

Slept a few times in Lotus. It is OK. You can even get a massage there with extra's provided.
I like soi 33 because of the quieter atmosphere than Nana or Patpong. You also had a few "cocktail bars" like that in Patpong 2.

I like 33 too. I find Nana a bit too full-on, noisy and aggressive. After an hour or so I've usually had enough.

The drinks are more expensive in 33, but they nearly all do happy hour til 9, which I'm told is why expat workers favour it early evening. Many take the BTS along from Silom and Siam Square.

BFs are higher too, but as the guys have said, there are ways around that.

I've found that the actual tip for the girl is no higher than anywhere else. 2k LT has always worked for me.

I had an amazing new years eve there on 2004/05. Maybe my one best night ever in LOS. Went into The Office about 7.30 and got talking to a real beauty who was new and (unusually) hardly spoke a word of English. The other girls were a bit concerned about her, worried that the punters might be irritated by her lack of English, as the norm is that they speak it quite well. I liked her so I told them I'd take her out for a while and bring her back. They said great.

I was starving so I took her to soi 50 where there's an unbelievable place called Oishi that does a set-price all you can eat sushi and teppanyaki. Well recommended! She was a bit bemused and apprehensive at first, but once she finally grasped that all you can eat means just what it says, she ate enough to last till February.

Then we went to the Luang Sum night market, which is good fun. Lots going on and lots of funny little shops, not only the usual tourist gear. I bought her a belt and a scarf, she bought me a wooden back scratcher. I also bought a toilet roll holder that looks like Albert Einstein's face. You pull the toilet roll out through a hole in his ear. Only in LOS!

Got back to The Office at about 12.30. There were no more than three men in there and all of them were drunk, sitting on their own and looking sorry for themselves. But then there were about a dozen girls, many of them stunners - and most of them drunk, dancing on the bar top and VERY affectionate! I think they were pleased that she'd had a good time and no trouble, and she was bubbling over with it.

Stayed till about 2 and, I must admit, spent a shitload on Breezers for them and beers for me, but at least they were regular prices, not LDs. Went back to my hotel with the original beauty and her two friends. Oh my gawd, what a night.

Just one note - I got the impression that quite a lot of Soi 33 girls come from in or around BKK itself.

I know you didn't ask but I prefer Soi Cowboy to either nana or soi 33. Nana just seems too hectic to me and I must say I never really believed it but I found it to be true that there are some ladies there that only go with Japanese. I walked in to one gogo in Nana and a girl comes up to me and asks me who I like. I pointed and said "her" and she says "sorry she only go with Japanese". "What about her?" "Same" "Her?" "Same" Ahhh! The thing I didn't like about soi 33 is two of the bars I went into, the girls were not allowed to come around from inside the bar unless you bought them a drink. Some guys might like this but I felt strange watching 15 girls crammed behind the bar and 10 of them all trying to talk to me. That being said, they were all very very nice and seemed more sophisticated than your average bar girl but i just felt wierd. I like the outdoor seating at Soi Cowboy where you can just sit back and relax and people watch.

Have to agree with you Sef. 33 is not as laid back. Coupled with the high prices (for me thats more of an issue) I just did not think it was worth it. Its the same bird in a evening gown. It was ok the last time I went, but hey I was not buying. My favorite has got to be Cowboy with NEP coming in second. I dont make it out to PP to often. Will have to make more of an effort on that one.

Exactly my list of how I like the 'entertainment areas'..

I just thought that 33 felt a little pretentious.. all that cocktail dress and pretend sophistication.. Just dressing the same scene in different clothes.. I cant remember which of the dead artists it was we went in though and its possible we hit the most OTT ones.
