Depends on your interest level in the quality..

I actually think its getting harder to find the really passable copies. Patpong night market has lots and I saw some ok sub copies last time in MBK..

http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ge...ighlight=rolex

Was my take a year two ago...I think its getting harder to find that top 5%.. certainly is here on the island.

i think it depends on what type of watch also
i think the bigger watches are hard to pass off

i bought 2 patek philippe in patong and ive gotten tons of compliments on them, and quite a few who know good wathes. i think if you stick to the small faced watches, they look better

I got a sub mariner on Bangala Road a year ago and it is still going strong and I had a guy the other night look at it real close and still thought it was real.

Does not help you for BKK but it is possible to get a good one if you look about. Patpong is the best I think seen some good ones there. But I think it is all luck of the draw.

I'm a bit of a watch fan myself, so take an interest in these threads. I think there are, as has been said, good and bad copies out there.

It does help if you know your watches in the first place. For me, it's Rolex so I can see a good copy from a bad one. But if you showed me a dicky Breitling I would not have a scooby if it was any good or not.

I suppose the message is: know what you are looking for, and what you are talking about, and walk away from the crap because there is a lot of it out there.

I guess the other thing would be to stay away from Rolex, they seem to get examined far more closely than any other make when you get back home and everyone wants your Rolex to be a fake.

I remember in Kuala Lumpur 3 years ago i brought an obviously fake addidas watch.... I only wanted something to keep track of the time with and got it for 2gbp.... It was just to keep track of time as my phone was dead... got it in a market buy that big station masjid jamick ( i know the spelling is well wrong) It is still working after almost 3 years.... never had a problem with it..... I wonder if i would be saying that if it was a real one?

Same same. I'm a Breitling and Omega collector I have three very good copies of original watches and you'd be hard pressed to tell them from the real McCoy. However, you tend to pay top $ for the better copies so if your chosen watch is really cheap, its probably crap.

Incidentally, the better copies have Seiko movements and are self winding. The battery copies are usually of a cheaper/inferior brand.

I've picked up some Brietlings and Patak Philippe at Patpong and received a great deal of compliments.

Look em up on the net, download a picture and take it with you and decide for yourself. Good copies
