Heat/Humidity

Hello Forum members,

just asking me if the humidity in February is high and sticky. Maybe silly but i like it so much. I was in BKK in August and i got a schock when i opened the door of the airport. I was so humid. I love this.

Will I get this feeling on February 23th too? I know it is the cool season but it is still hot.

Thanks a lot for any info.

Take a look at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/c...ml?tt=TT002890

As you can see the humidity is pretty constant throughout the year - low 90's throughout, the subjective discomfort they quote is high for both Feb. and Aug.

You'll find it cooler during February, but there will be less relief from the regular thunderstorms you get in August. The extreme months are April-June.

Personally I too like the heat, but I also enjoy the rainstorms (within reason) sitting in a bar watching it come down, inside and out usually, and then strolling around in the fresh, clean conditions immediately afterwards.

Funny, I loathe humidity and the sweating it leads too...Its like the worst thing about Thailand for me...thankfully other things make up for that fact...nowhere is perfect and its something I just put up with.

This year I have been feeling the humidy worse then before (time for a diet / fast maybe).. Not so much the heat as a problem but the sticky humidity..

I find BKK to be like a sauna sometimes..

Quite honestly I prefer a desert / dry heat but I love the green of the tropics etc.. If we had a reliable trade wind sort of thing here it would be nice.. Living up the hill a little from town (or even better around Haasip Pee Rd) feels many degrees cooler due to jungle and breeze.. Very pleasant.

Or worse..

Though today was quite bearable (sunny less humid) and actually kinda nice nearly cool and breezy at the open air resturant in Mae Ubol.. Then again it did rain for a min just as we left..

well, when i think of the humidity of the east coast of US, i think of nyc in the summer. can be unbearable!!

although phuket is hotter, and i sweat constantly, it seems a lot more pleasant, in the day at least. hate sweating at night when im out at night
