Royal President Bangkok

I have finally decided on a destination... Bangkok! Im choosing my flight/hotel package and the Royal President Bangkok looks pretty nice..

Now all I have to ask you... Is this hotel near the bars/ladies? And I mean really good bars

Has anyone stayed here before? How are they about me bring back a different lady ummmm every night

Royal President Bangkok
43 SUKHUMVIT 15 ROADBangkok, 10110 th

Also... They mention the hotel is 15 miles away from BKK internation airport... How much is the average cab ride from the airport to the hotel.. I live near NYC and I have horror stories to tell you with cabbies and tourists..

Good choice!

Have stayed there at least 50 times. Sometimnes a bit longer and sometimes as short as 2 nights. Know that the prices are quit a bit higher now but I still like the location (in the middle of Nana, Cowboy, Q Bar etc...), good rooms with all facilities, great staff etc.

Started staying there about 8 years ago until I permanently moved to Thailand. Had my place on Phuket but spend quit a bit of time in Bangkok. The Royal has always been a good home away from home for me in Bangkok.
No worries about the girls, they never made an issue about 1 or more of them. Bars are plentifull in the area or within 10 minutes.

Enjoy!!

A lot will depend on when your going.

There is an airbus that was 100Baht from the airport but i have read somewhere that the price has gone upto 150Baht ther are girls outside who will help you on which bus to catch.

Taxis from the airport to Sukumvit are around the 200 - 300 Baht mark but ask to be put on the meter as some will try to charge you a flat fare of upto 600Baht.

The taxi driver will ask you if you want to take the expressway which is a lot faster, there are extra charges for this of 40 or 60 baht but take it as it saves a lot of time, so try to get a bit of change in the airport maybe buy a bottle of water or something.

Now if you are going after Sept 28th and the new airport is finally open you will be on opposite side of the city, I reckon the trip into the centre should be about the same, but keep an eye out on the forum as im sure BM's who arrive after the airport is open will post the latest news on transport into the centre.

I land on Sept 30th so i'll let you know how i get on.

Royal President is a good bit closer to Soi Cowboy than to Nana Plaza, but you certainly can walk to Nana Plaza as well. Let your introduction to the Skytrain be to go from Asoke to Nana. The recorded voice saying NA NA at the stop has to be one of the sexiest sounds in Thailand. Last time through in March, they had brought quite a bit of order to the process of taking a taxi from Don Muang. A que and stand with someone more or less enforcing use of the meter but with a set surcharge (can't remember how much). Generally pay the expressway tolls, although surface streets can be okay on weekends.

Am staying at the Royal President from Jan 5th to 9th next year. Maybe a along shot but if anyone is going to be around for a beer at that time lets hook up.
As for the hotel, I stayed there in may and was upgraded to a cattelia suite-very nice and had 2 nights for 2750 baht. It was very guest friendly but the guard takes the girls ID before you head up to the room.
