Arrow Hotel suggestions for BKK and Koh Samui

Hi, my GF and I are going to LOS next September and need some advices regarding accomodation in both BKK and Koh Samui.
What we look for is:
1) clean rooms;
2) guest friendly / no joiner fee hotels ;
3) in-room safe;
4) close to the action

Thanks for your suggestions.

It is G/F.........
The real high end hotels see you as a real guest. You pay your room and they provide service. That includes not looking to 'guests'.

An acquintance of mine booked into the Oriental and stated that his 'wife' was to arrive on a later plane and would check in after dinner. After 'dinner' he returned to the reception with his 'wife' to register her....
Receptionist and girl having a conversation. The guy ask if there is a problem. Receptionist looks a bit funny and says: "it seems that your wife can neither read nor write!".
Now he stays at the Shangri La or Peninsula. Also there no problems to bring guests.

A good hotel, and have all the thing you ask for.

Anyway, my request to have a fancier hotel was just ironical, considered the first advice you gave to me

Actually I haven't made up my mind yet, I would prefer to stay as close as possible to the action (if I am not wrong is Sukhumvit area) but as I wrote in the beginning, my GF and I are interested in a hotel that have clean rooms, possibly in-room safe and that of course are guest friendly and with no joiner fee. I'll not book in advance but, considered the low season in September, I don't think I'll have any problem.

Are there no hotels that you like the look of in the thread I put up for you?

Best to make a short list of the ones you maybe would like to learn more about,then try the search engine on them.

Also Bangkoktonite forum review hotels in the city. Be careful asking questions though. They aren't all as friendly as Bono on that forum

Not at all, the thread you suggested was helpful, in fact I try to pick up info regarding the ones I am interested in.
Regarding asking questions....unless they can't kill me is fine

I hv not found any cheaper rates on the net than on their homepage.I don't think they are offering their rooms to any other hotelsite.
But they told me when I stayed there in July they informed me that they will increase the price.

Hotel suggestions for BKK and Koh Samui

My last tripps to BKK i have used Swiss Grottino
http://www.grottino.com
Its just behind Bonos head office Westin

The rooms are better than most of the expensive hotells to a good price.
And you have two main doors with a nice guard so its no problem with guests.
