What sopt are you reffering to on Soi 7/1? I have stayed at one of the little hotels there for a couple years and never saw it... Would have been nice though.

I think Soi Nana runs directly opposite to Sukumvit so includes soi 3 & Soi 4.
More people call soi 4 Nana because Nana Hotel & Nep are on Soi 4.

After hours..
New to this board, so Hi to all.
There are now quite a few after hours joints near to Nana. They are not legal as such - you usually enter through a shop front, go up a few stairs and into the club. I've been to one on 7/1. Just a darkened shop front with a couple of Thai guys hanging around. A quick word with them, up the stairs and crikey it's a full blown party going on. The one on 7/1 I went to had some of the best house music I've heard in BKK. Drinks were expensive though. It was a 50:50 mix of Thais and Falangs with their BG's. Was taken to another one nearby that did ask for an entrance fee, but 7/1 was free to enter.
I've also been to a couple of mainly Thai after hours joints. There's quite a few of them about. Just ask your BG - they know where these places are!
H.

You are definitely talking about Syn Bar, which is on soi 4 (nana) and above the 7/11 next to the Bus Stop. The confusion over the 300 baht is that Syn bar has a disco on the second floor (300 baht - 1 drink) and also a rooftop terrace (free but bottle beer hein&sing both 180 baht) that is not exactly like Safari, but is open, with a nice retractable awning, some trees, water fountain, some pool tables and such. Not a bad place but the closing times are dictated by the police, so you can be kicked out one night at 2:30 and be happily drinking at 4:00 am on another.... The place gets pretty busy after the Nana bars close, but of course weekends are busier. There is also a pool hall type place on the same floor as the disco, but i don't think it is "Syn" bar, I think it is another owner.
cheers,
Robaht

Sorry but the one and only official Soi Nana is Sukhumvit Soi 3 (just read the name of the street on the board next time you're there) but it's true that it's also called Nana Nua (North). Soi 4 is Soi Nanatai (Nana South).

That makes sense and actually clears up a question that I had last night. On Suk Soi 3/1 there is a good little open-air street restaurant (not one of the makeshift ones) that has wooden tables and few stands for Pad thai and shakes and the like. They play traditional thai music and Singha beer is only 50 baht there. It has kind of a nice view for watching the street after hours - and it has a (albeit very rustic) toilet so no need to go to one of the awful alleys... I told a friend that I was at soi 3 (not saying the 3/1 bit) and she kept saying she couldn't find me, now that I understand that Soi 3 is north nana road and soi 4 is south nana road. Cheers, Robaht

This is a perfect example of why it's best to get several opinions on any subject on the Internet as several will be totally wrong.
"Nua" is the north part - Grace Hotel, Krung Thai bank, etc
"Tai" is the south part - Nana Plaza, Nana Hotel, etc.

Ah! So that's what "Necro" means!
Actually I was Googling "Nana Nua" and "Nana Tai" because I wasn't sure how to spell "Tai". I certainly know where each is relative to Sukhumvit.
This thread turned up in the first page of results so I thought a correction was in order as there may be some very confused tourists walking up to the Grace Hotel looking for the NEP. Or vice versa.
