Panthip Plaza

If anybody is passing through Panthip in the next week or so I would really appreciate a favour.

I don't know if they will have it or not, it's a piece of nerdy photography software, but I need something called Genuine Fractals. It increases the size of pictures without losing any quality. They might not even have it, but I would really like to ask them.

If anyone is in the area and would like to help me out I would appreciate it. PM me for personal details etc.

I was hoping he would reply, I'm sure he will get round to it.

Don't know if it's the kind of thing that you can download. I can get it for 150usd, but 100baht seems a lot more favourable you know? C'mon Alfie, help me out here.

I dont know about this particular program, but I didnt knew fractals were using to increase images resolutions.

I do know fractals is a mathematical formula that allows endless of zooming into its images.

Photoshop is not so bad for enlarging images, with its own various ways to interpolation, I never heard of fractals for this purpose.

I have Photoshop now, and it will give me really big (50mb) TIFF files. I signed up with Alamy this weekend though, and they reccommend GF so I was hoping to pick it up.

I did not know that a fractal was a mathematical equation, you learn something every day here.

I read a review about Genuine Fractals now, sounds very good to create real large images, e.g. for billboards and other large things. Saw a comparision between a Photoshop (althought old version PS 5.5) and GF image that had been resized and it was a big difference.

(The review was 5-6 years old and based on 2 megapixel images, todays cameras has a lot higher resolution from beginning.)

I saw another use for it, it may create good results of downsized photos aswell. E.g. you use your 6-10 megapixel source photo and want to publish on the web with best quality as possible. Maybe thats why people recommended it to you Steve, as most people dont need the large print capabilities.

It looks like it has several uses, I'm really kicking myself for not looking for it when I was in Panthip. I will have a look at the link posted here.

Pantip doesnt often have stuff that too specialized IMHO.. Big name packages like AVID and other expensive stuff yes but nieche stuff I have not seen..

If its not on emula / kazaa / torrents I doubt its in Pantip.

What is it you want.
