I had a last beer on the car park (1 heineken for 80 B) after 2 AM when bars are closed. The girl opened my bottle and gave me the change. I remember sitting on Golden's steps and drinking my beer but I cannot recall what happened just after that. I waked up in my room, alone, with an empty wallet (I had about 4000 B in it). I probably have been druged so, be really careful and avoid buying beers in the street in that area (or a least, open the bottle yourself)

Soi Zero does not exists anymore. A new bar area (looks like Soi Sukhumvit in Phuket) has oppened on the other side of the road, near Ploenchit station.

Indeed, you're lucky you woke up in your room, and not somewhere between a couple of SOI Dogs....Have Hotel reception or security been able to shed some light on your arrival that night ?

No, I have absolutely no explanation. Hopefully, my credit cards and travel documents were in the safe box at the reception.
If my passport or my credit cards have been stolen, I would have asked the security...

All I can say is that the girl who sold beers took a bottle of Heineken from a leather bag. I gave her 100 bahts. She vanished a few minutes then came back with the change (a 20B note) and the bottle opened. I found nothing really suspect on the moment.
One thing is sure: I was not drunk as I had only a couple of beers in Biergarten before. I really think that I have been drugged and robbed by the girl I talked with on the car park, maybe in the car park or in my room in Nana Hotel.

can only imagine that the beer seller is working as a "team"?,,thats a bit alarming really!! make syou think twice about leaving your beer and visiting the toilet,,i know in the clubs my way,,they have a tamper proof top thats placed in the bottle by the bartender once opened,,

I must say, reading that, I'm really lucky sofar. I must have an superstar angel sitting on my shoulders since I somehow always survive safely back to my room up to now.

Only drink in establishments you trust, watch them open your drink if possible, and keep it with you at all times. Keep your valuables in the hotel safe; don't flash around a lot of cash or jewelry. In other words, don't ask for trouble.

This was my 18th trip to Thailand in 7 years and it's the first time that I have something stolen. Hopefully, it was not too much money.
Just an advice: don't carry all your valuables with you: just a few notes and use the safe box when available for your credit cards and travel documents. Don't be paranoid but be careful with freelancers.

Seriously, in my case, it happened in a crowded place, in front of Nana hotel but it can happen anywhere. I was maybe too confident. Well, we've all read similar stories in the press. GHB was probably used; it could have been worse and thank God, I'm still with you guys.

Bad luck Bobby You are not the first this has happened to,not so long ago Alfie got the same treatment,not sure if it was in Nana car park though.
At least your C/C wasn't used or passport stolen.

One thing puzzles me,how come you woke in your own room? Were you taken there,or did you tell the beer seller where you were staying?

The drugs used are very similar to the ones we use (legally !!) in the hospitals. They do not actually "knock you out" , just make you more compliant , they also have an amnesic effect , in that you can still "be there" but as soon as you go to sleep your "memory" disappears.

So , you may "drift off" for a little while , then wake up wander home and go to bed , your "memory" will stop from when you first are affected.

There were at least 2 girls involved: the beer seller and the freelancer I chatted with. I use sleeping pills on a regular basis and I know that this kind of drug drugs can have strange effects on you so I'm pretty sure that even drugged, I was conscious and able to go back to my room alone.
They probably used an hypnotic drug like GHB that acts on your brain: you're conscious but you're doing everything that you are asked for.

I see 2 possibilities:
1. I gave them the content of my wallet then I went back alone to my room.
or
2. One of them followed me to my room and robbed me there.

I think that the explanation nr 1 is probably the right one as nothing disappeared in my room (I had my mobile phone and my laptop). I just wonder what would have happened if I was asked to go to the ATM and make a withdrawal of let's say 50.000 B But hopefully, I didn't carry my VISA card that night.

Needless to say that the next night, when I went back to the same place at the same time to try to understand what happened, none of the girls was there. So I suspect that the gang change place from night to night. Of course, I'm unable to prove what I say.

Things could have been worse. After all, it was "only" 4200 B, less than an average bill at MTB.

I wonder if something similar happened to other members. I will PM Alfie...

Don't know too much about it, but it's heavily used and a trend on house party's i.e. in Holland, since a couple of years. So, guess you can have a good time dancing if the dose is not too high.

The very dangerous thing is that the effect is very different and unpredictable when combined with alcohol !

your lucky bobby could have been worse..About 4 years ago it happened to me in a disco in England.Id been out with my cousin but was'nt getting drunk only drinking 3 or 4 bottles in the pub before.Into the disco and ordered 4 bottles(2 each). I was sober at this stage (6 beers is only a snack to me,im irish 5555). Next thing i remember is banging down the door of the house id lived in 6 years previously at 5 am and a woman (no idea who) shouting out the top window at me in her nightie "who the fcuk are you". I have absolutely no idea how i got there.im really confused and mumble "sorry" and leave. i must have blacked out again because "bang" next thing im walking through a park i used to play in as a kid on the other side of town with again no idea how i got there. Blacked out yet again and woke talking to a taxi driver. He took me to my aunts house thank God so i was ok..next day my cousin said i just dissapeared suddenly,He looked everywhere for me but thought i must have scored 5555.I still had my wallet,phone and everything intact but it was one scarey night. My research has led me to believe i was spiked with Rohypnol(roofies) or something. A date rape drug.my uncle said it had been in the papers lately about drinks getting spiked in that same club. Now i never leave my drink unless its with someone i can trust otherwise i just down it before going to the toilet............

Glad I usually have a wing man to watch out for me. but sometime i am alone. Thanks for the warning. Will truely watch out while at Nana next month
