The new airport

With only 2 days till the scheduled opening of the new BKK airport I was wondering if anyone knows if they are really going to open this time?
I'm going there on Oct. 6th, so I would really like to know!

Should be. See thread:
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ne...-schedule.html
Also, the airport authorities (AOT) recently reversed the plan that call for all taxis to pick up only at the bus terminal. They should be available on the second floor.
Quote:
Due to complaints, the plan for a 3-km shuttle service to the transportation terminal may be scrapped, to allow taxis to directly pick up passengers.
In an about face, the Airports of Thailand will allow 20 public taxis at a time to pick up passengers at Suvarnabhumi’s main terminal, beginning 15 September, to test the alternative system.
Previously, passengers had to take a shuttle bus from the main terminal to a bus terminal three kilometres away to catch a taxi.
Personally I will be landing there on October 5, 2006.
