It's half way to Patong, so I would say 20 minutes, and 20 kms.
Never stayed there, but I have been to the golf course. Can't afford 25,000 baht per night....

time of day?...big factor in Bangkok.
You can go via the Expressway getting on near rama 3.... left out of the Banyan tree, down Soi Suan Plu, onto Nang Linchee road onto the expressway going to the port, up the outer ring road and into Suwarnabhumi.
Maybe not the most direct route, but mainly highway and would be quickest. Maybe 35 minutes without much traffic.

Tell reception what time your flight is and let them arrange transport for you, they would have the best idea of travel time.

Personally, I'd leave at 18:15, you may well be early....but the potential for a traffic snarl at that time is covered. 18:00 if you are the nervous type.
Nice hotel.....enjoy

Hi Aussie
Where do you usually stay in Bangkok?
Which hotel do you recommend in BKK for a night only since we will have an early flight at 8h30?
We would like to go to Banyan Tree(Vertigo) or Dome (Sirocco) for photos and after for shopping at Suam Lung Night Bazar.

banyan 10 min walk to Night Bazar(worth a look) its not cheap to stay there but 5 star.
banyan is in an area with no shops etc.
Vertigo has bar area on open rooftop really is worth a look.
I stayed at swiss lodge (breakfast from 6am)at patpong good hotel but small and 5 doors along is the exchange irish pub has a good band on friday and sat nights.
10mins ride to night bazar or 20mins using subway.
have a look here http://www.phuket-info.com/hotel/ban...r= USD&promo=

What do you think about staying near the new airport and spending night of instance at Novotel Bangna and going at night to Vertigo and shopping?
COz it's too early and need to get a taxi

That means that we need to wake up at 5am (or even go straigth without sleeping if we choose to stay in town.
How far is the Novotel to Banyan Tree and the Novotel to Airport? Which is the near BTS where Novotel is located?
