Got some surf brand t-shirts for 150-200 baht each, boardshorts for about the same (on Koh sSamui). Dvd's (good copies not screen shots) and cd's for 100 baht each in the MBK centre. They take you order after you select titles from a book and you wait about 15 to 20 minutes before they get delivered to the shop.
Can'r be of better help as I was more concerned with the price of beer and massages and other activities that are honeymoon related.

DVD's, CD's, copy clothing but check as many are sub standard quality, mobiles do not think are great difference, whoops just noticed you are from Aus and I was comparing to UK. When I used to come here on holiday, I usually took back a few replica football shirts for friends or friends kids as they are very cheap about 500 bht, usually bought a few copy teeshirts 100 - 150 bht, always DVD's, now selling at 60 to 80bht but check quality and good rule of thumb is if too new they will be bad copy, but I used to just buy about 20 and accept a couple would not be too good, at 80 bht or whatever was cheap enough not to worry.
Where abouts are you going to in LOS?

thanks for advice scotty and dodger.can you get any good quality copy watches and if so where to go to get them.
not sure with terminology ,what does LOS stand for .my plans to date are to have 2 or 3 nights in bangkok ,an overnight trip o river kwai ,about a week in pattaya and back to bangkok for a couple of days before leaving .was thinking of booking the nana hotel for the first couple of days but some say its a bad idea(alternative dynasty as they will provide transport to pattaya or so i've read if staying in one of there hotels).
any further advice is welcome from anyone.hope to bump into someone with local knowledge and buy them a couple of beers.

Depends what you mean by 'good' copys.. You can find passable copies around Patpong night market and some in MBK IIRC..
It seems to me that the standard of copies has dropped.. Police pressure against counterfiet has increased and confiscation of stock means carrying the really good copies is a higher risk due to losing a higher value..
Depends on your knowledge of watches and fakes..

As your an Aussie than this doesn't apply to you, but the UK customs has started really targeting incoming flights from Bangkok. Every time i have flown in now over the last 2 years i have been searched. Last time they put us all on the last luggage carousel so they could seperate us and used sniffer dogs and pulled every-single man going through to search.
So if anyone is flying back to UK, just dont do anything silly!

Also flights coming in here from BKK. SIN. KUL and HKG are being checked much more than other flights. Here they especially check on Fake cloths, fake handbags, electronics and copied dvd/cd's.
This is the way how to finance the illegal immigrants...

All European countries are getting more checks on flights from BKK as the EU have ordered a big crackdown on conterfeit goods.
I've always felt customs act far outside of the principles of fair process, reasonable suspision, property search, etc that apply everywhere else. Copyright infringement is not even a criminal offence unless you're the one mass copying and selling but they try to make it out to be one. It's shameful I think that the movie/music industry via the EU get customs to do their dirty work. I'm sure the resources could be better used elsewhere especially as we're all under this supposed grave terrorist threat.

Clothes you can get cheaply at the Pratnum Market, not far from World Trade Center Shopping Mall. Also MBK and adjacent Siam Square may have some good quality bargains. If you want electronics, DVDs, etc. head on over to Pantip Plaza, also near Pratnum Market. If you want to go get really cheap stuff, like gifts and clothes, on the weekend check out the outdoor market at Chatuchak. It's awesome and right next to the SkyTrain.
I made a video of the market here >>>
Have fun.

I was meaning purely watches to be honest.. When I first came here I used to get some superb copies.. Always take a few back as pass out fun gifts for people in Holland.. A friend sold one for 1k Euro and another had a Belgian fence (who knew his jewelry if not his watches by the sound) convinced it was a genuine Brietling..
Have not see any copies of that kind of standard down in Patong at all for a long while.. My brother bought the kermit edition green bezel sub in BKK which was a slick copy so he had something to wear in indo instead of his real sub.. That was superb fake.

thanks for advice.
its a pity you can't get really good copy watches .i know a friend got some in malasia.still i suppose the ones you can get won't be too bad.
interesting to hear about customs in uk and holland(europe)targetting counterfeit goods .what do they do if they find some .do the bastards confiscate them.i agree with brit ,its one thing to target the terrorist threat and drugs, why waste there resourses .

I think BKK may still have some.. When I say 'here' I mean Patong.. Theres some middle quality ones and lots of rougher ones.. But if getting a copy it has to be totally pefect or I am not interested.. Being caught out as a faker would be too cheap for me..

I bought my lad the TAG Heuer Microtimer fake the last time I was over (UK retail ITRO GBP1250)
It has a very broad wrist band which he likes as it covers an old wrist operation scar. Nice piece and impressed the jewelers. I had to ask the bloke in the chipboard sweat box for the 'half decent' stuff as most of the tat he had on show wouldn't have passed muster anywhere.
Ended up the bargaining, walking away, "too much", I'll come back tommorrow etc etc at around 1600Baht from an 8K Baht start. Problem is now, my lad on the lash around Manchester in it and someone mistaking it for a real one. For the sake of 23 quid give it to them.

I bought a 'classical' Rolex Oyster Perpatual Date from there for 1200 baht. It is an automatic and - what I didn't really assume when I bought it - it is running fine!
