How long whould I stay??? BKK/Pattaya/CM

My trip will consist of first 3 days in BKK then 3 in Chiang Mai then 8 days in Phuket...I will go back to BKK for 1 day before flying out. Is this a good number of days each? Should I try to work in Pattaya somehow. Am I staying to long in one place and not enough in another???

Seems like a decent itinerary for a first??? trip to me. Pattaya is just Patong Beach on steroids, so I would leave it for a future trip. Just my opinion though.

I stayed at several Hotels, Thara Patong is great and very near Bangla Road where the action is, I don,t know if it is still guest friendly. In my case it was because I stay always for a long time. Leelavadee hotel is also good, guestfriendly , but a little bit further away, but when you go by taxi-motorbike it is only 3 minutes

Swiss-Thara very nice, not GF though. 1,000bht! I've gone for the Patong Villa this time. Cheaper and GF. Do a search on the hotels in patong, loads of good info.

I LOVE Safari Beach as it is close to the action, has a good restaurant out front, the beach across the street - yet it still seems private. Guest friendly? You betcha.
