Wasting some time during the day in bangkok!

1st Trip over and loved it.

Got back last week and was the best 12 days of my life, bangkok and pattaya were great. Next trip we will be staying in bangkok for 2 weeks in another 6months, already planned and booked LOL.......loved it because everything is so close and really beaches dont bother us, At least in Bangkok you can get away from the gogo's not like in pattaya where they are everywhere u go LOL ...Now with cowboy and nana keeping us busy on most night times, we were just wondering if anyone can suggest a few things which are worth doing in bangkok during the day?

Things we have done,
1. Seen temples
2. Been on boat cruise down the river
3. Shopping in MBK etc
4. Went bowling
5. Went to the movies

Things already on the agenda for next trip,
1. Going to the bangkok zoo
2. Going to a pistol range(do they exist) ?
3. Getting a slippery massage(ive heard about them) ?
4. Go-karting ?

Any more ideas would be awesome, thanks guys

They have go karting but it doesn't open until about 4 pm I think, it's along RCA.

Same with the soapies they either don't have many girls turn up or are not open at all until 3-4 in the afternoon.

The crocodile farm is worth seeing, also the snake place and grand palace.

A day trip to Kanchanburi (2 - 3 hours away) where you have the bridge on the river Kwai is an option. Most hotels will book you a trip.

Two weeks in Bangkok is a long time 2 or 3 days at a time is enough for me, If your not one for beaches there is a lot more to Thailand you could try up country to Chiang Mai or somewhere, but if you like Bangkok and your happy its your holiday.

Not sure whether you mean Soappy or Oil massage when you refer to "slippery".

Oil massage you can get just about everywhere.

Soappies can be found in a number of places. XXXXX mentioned Cupidy and Darlings. I never been to either place, but have heard positive comments. I have been to Utopia several times and found it to be great every time. I would advise you against Annie's. See Annie's Sucks

One of the good things about Utopia is that they do not offer Taxi commission. Some other entertainment centers do, which means that you either need to know a nearby drop-off address or be prepared to pay extra.

The night Bazaar is good also. They serve food, have a concert, and a giant ferris wheel

You must have been on asiatraveltips.com (Things to do in Bangkok); your list is in the same order as theirs. I only have a couple of comments:

Grand Palace (and Wat Pho), definitely worth a visit. Expect 1.5 to 2 hours.

Floating Market: Never been there, but it is on my list of places to see. The problem is that it is 80km out of town, so by the time you get there, experience it, and get back it is most of a day trip.

Personally, I wouldn't be too tempted to go to places like Snake Farm and Crocodile Farm.

The Burma Railway Tour is a full day, and is well worth it. The Grand Palace and Rice Barge trips are also good for a few hours each. The floating market isn't much in my opion, but once you have been their, then no need to do it a second time.

You can rent Segway Human Transporters down at the Woraburi Hotel (end of Soi 4 - down from Nana Plaza) and take one of several tours that they offer. I did the backroads tour during my trip in march and it was a lot of fun. It only takes a few minutes to learn how to ride and then you ride down city streets for about 10 to 15 minutes to a large park and ride on bike paths around a large man made lake. The backroads tour lasts around 2 hours and costs 1900 baht
They have a website at:
Thailand Segway Tours - Home Page
