Thai New Year
We are heading back to Thailand in April and will be arriving on the 13th (Thai New Year?). Does anyone know what Thai New year in BKK is like? Will all the hotels be full? We normally leave it to the last minute to book a hotel but as it is new year I was thinking of booking one early.

I've done Koh San Road from song kran and wouldn't do it again. Way too much powder in the eyes and drunk thai guys. Lots of cute girls though. Street was so packed that it took an hour to move up it. I would find another area that is a bit more traditional. The upside is there are much fewer cars on the road so the air gets noticeably cleaner.
Flights and hotels get full early, especially if you are heading up Chiang Mai way. Book today. You have a lot of thais going to Chiang Mai as well because it is the real deal and a week of fun. Phuket is OK, but it is really only one day. the ladyboys put on a good show on bangla. Most fun to get a truck with some big garbage bins full of water and drive around. Song Kran is the best.

We will be in BKK for Song Kran in fact we arrive on the 13th so we will probably miss some of it as we willbe dead sleepy.........
