I went there in DEC 2003...very very trendy, and also a bit pricey. It looks like a place that belongs in a science fiction movie. I say have a drink there early in the evening to decide if it's for you. Do not make dinner reservations initially; you can always try to get a table if you like the place. It's not everyone's cup of tea. It is a club that has been put together very well; it is simply a place you like very much or dislike with an equal amount of emotion.

Dinner reservations can be made until 11:30 PM, at least when I was there. The club then stayed open until 2:00 AM. All of that may have changed due to Thaksin's new 'early close' rule. I would email them to check on that. The Bangkok Post or The Nation may help, too.

FYI: I had the most fun when I went to Ministry of Sound on Suk Soi 12. This place is right next to Cabbages and Condoms; a restaurant that supports one of Thailand's only family planning agencies. I recommend both. Food at C&C darn good; you can sit inside in AC or out in the garden patio. It's a pretty good meal for a great cause. MOS just rocked; great music, fantastic sound system and a very smart layout with a diverse crowd. Give it a try; they are London based and can also be found on the web.

Bed Supper Club

I was their 3 weeks ago - trendy place but dont wear white. All the staff wear white and everything else is white. It looks like a George Michael video.
Q bar is always good - lots of good looking dolly birds with most not charging.
Tapas bar too, at Patpong is a good club with a lot of trendy non charging dollies - students, profs, expats etc

Mystique and Bed Supper Club looks great and creative.

Do you think there is a market for high end clubs in Patong? I am also thinking about Soi 33 kind of bars.

i love ministry of sound and have been to many of there clubs/events over europe.i would love one in patong.the only problem would be that i would spend every minute it was open in there, and in my opinion they always seem to be expensive.plus i think it would bring with it the drug scene that thailand is trying to eliminate so i am not sure the police would be to happy about it.i have never been to a mos and not been approached for drugs.it seems the only thing to do is join in to be on a par with everyone else around you.

Hi Nicke. I think you can see from this thread and discussions on other threads that there certainly would be a lot of interest in a more high end place in Patong. I noticed that there are already a couple of smarter, trendier bars opening, like the one on Beach Road. And when you think about it, the sois off Bangla - Eric, Easy, etc. and especially Katoey - are a lot of fun but they're certainly not for the faint hearted, so they probably miss the custom of a lot of guys who might feel a bit more comfortable in more select, quieter, low key places and wouldn't mind paying the extra that it costs.

I'm not saying that this sort of place will ever replace the existing bars, but they might well be able to co-exist.
