flights from bangkok to uk

I was trying to get flights to uk using frequent flyer points (from australia).seems ok for australia to bankok leg but out of bangkok is hopeless.(this is april or may).
Is it easy to book a flight from bangkok to uk at short notice from bangkok.and what would be the aproximate cost.I would be in bangkok/pattaya for about 12 days so have time to book.
any advice is welcome.

I have been trying over the last week to get flights from BKK to Aberdeen, 10 days ago i could get them for 720 GBP with KLM, thought it was a bit much so i will hang on, now the cheapest i can get is 830 , plenty of flights seem available but now just more expensive.
I would also appreciate any advice someone may have, but i guess i just have to pay the rates.

When do you travel?

I know I had problems for when i go on the 24.03.07 rtn 12.04.07.

Cheap flights & hotels | car hire | package holidays - TravelSupermarket UK

You could try getting a no frills airline to a major airport then look from there.

Hi chaps,
I always use expedia for my trips to LOS, having been twice and just booked my next 2 trips this year with them, they have always turned up the cheapest flights/hotel for me, flying from Heathrow or Gatwick.
However, I did a search for a return flight from BKK to Aberdeen on the dates S1MON is flying and I got a quote with BA for £715 return inclusive, which is a little cheaper but not a massive saving, by contrast same dates quote to London worked out at £615.59 with direct flights, again with BA.

is it easy to get a flight from bangkok to singapore and how much would that cost .it seems easier to get a flight from singapore to uk using points.
this frequent flyer points thing is a pain in the **** .i have plenty, but its too hard to use them(they are qantas points ).

Just had a look at booking with Expedia from Australia for a ticket BKK - LHR and it throws up the cheapest seat at $ 574AU departing 23/4

Here is the link if you want to play around with your own dates.

Hey allyoops, I also found Qantas FF points very difficult to use. I use Star Alliance points now (inc. Thai Airways) and it's much better. I've got carry on flights to Loondon and Paris a few times, with no hassles. Hope you get it sorted. I'll be in BKK/Pattaya in May, when will you be around?

hi biomech .thanks for reply.
i can't say dates for sure yet ,but if i'm there at the same time as you i'll buy you a beer.
it looks like the qantas points are a waste of time so will look at getting a decent deal elsewhere.was going back to uk indefinately and don't know if/when returning to aus .trouble is one way flights are not much cheaper than return.but thats something i have to deal with .that is why i was trying to use f/f points.
when in may will you be there .i'm as good as a newbie by the way .have been to bangkok once many years ago and that was only for a couple of days.

You're right about the one way flights being almost as expensive as returns. Even el-cheapo Jetstar is over $400 one-way.

I'll be landing in BKK on 24/05 and leaving 04/06, 11 nights. I'm just finalising my moving around between BKK and Pattaya depending on hotel availability and that sorta thing.

I've bone BKK plenty of times, but have only spent 1 nght in Pattaya before, and I wasn't able to expore at all. So i'm a newbie to Pattaya. Should be good fun though.
