Swiss Grottino is in that little soi behind Westin, yes
They have a restaurant downstairs
I only stay in luxury hotels in BKK because so hectic outside
Trust me,SG is worth the money
There is also a very nice boutique hotel in the back sois near Q-Bar with a pool that's real nice
But you will be very happy with SG

I've stayed at the Swiss Grottino and I am not a big fan of the place. I guess it is cheap and central and they have done what they could to make the rooms nice, etc. and it has internet too. But the rooms I've stayed in have hot water in the shower that only lasts about 5 minutes max and the location is a tiny soi, kinda grimy and slimy in a way. The restaurant downstairs doubles as the reception, at night there is a guard at a side entrance and you just go up stairs or the lift because the restaurant is closed. My overall impression was that I would rather put the 2k towards a better hotel even if it is more expensive.
The Swiss Grottino also has a sister hotel with a bar called Toxic on soi 18. The hotel is called Art Deco.

No it's not, the hotel is called Town lodge.
The Sofitel on Soi 19 is on the right hand side as you go in about 200m. It's been open about a year, it was opened as a condo block and wasn't traded as a hotel at first. A friend of mine lives in it.
He'll be pissed off to know it's being sold as a hotel as well, the posh blokes get touchy about that sort of thing.
It should be GF though.

I can't say that I liked the Heidelberg. Stayed there last january.
Had a weter leak in the room which comes from the other room. told them that but their respons was that they will fix it after the customer hv checked out.
found the room quite small, have stayed at Dyansty Inn Grande before n found that much better. But I liked their breakfast.
The bed sheets was nice. The bathroom was not too good. Their shower pressaure was "too good".

I am staying at the Sofitel Residence Asoke now.
It is located about 400 meters from Suk on Soi 19. Just past the Soi 19-21 side street on the right. (The Westin Grande, Robinson Dept Store, and entrance to Asoke BTS are all at Soi 19.)
There are 2 buildings. One is condo/apartments that rises maybe 25 floors. The other is the Sofitel Residence that has 14 floors.
The 1 bedroom suites are very spacious and modern. They even include their own laundry room with washer.
5 minute walk to Asoke BTS. 10 minute walk to Soi Cowboy.
At check-in, the desk girl answered my guest policy question with the standard... To be in accordance with regulations, overnight guests must register.
But in practice, this place is very guest friendly. The outside guards give me and the girl a salute every night as we arrive. The desk staff give us a smile and a welcome.
No joiner charge, and no ID taken.
I have stayed at the President Solitaire suites before, but I will return to the Sofitel Residence on future trips.
I have an Accor Advantage Plus card which gets me discounted rates at Accor hotels including Sofitel. 2635++ pre-paid rate, or 3300++ unrestricted.
They also have a monthly rate of 85,000.
