The time has come
Hi peps,
yes, I shall be jumping on a plane off to Bangkok tomorrow & I'm looking forward to it.
I will be staying at the President Park hotel which I believe should cost me around 300 - 400 baht to get there from the airport.
Now, this is my first trip to LOS so I was looking for some advice on where I could go to meet friendly people. I just want to get a feel for the area first.
I'm also after a tailored suit can anyone recommend any good places? I heard it's cheap in Thailand.
If anyone is around at the same time then let me know

Welcome, but go back to your country because your life will be diffrent after you come here. You will have hard fever as everybody have. I love Thailand as much as everybody who loves Thai. My life has been changed since I have been coming every year. It's not health as you think.

Hi
Hi
You can find loads of info on this site, just click on search and type in your request, it really is a great service.
Bangkok is great as well, lots to see and do and the food and nightlife are outstanding.
Have a look at these sites for Bangkok info on nightlife.

You can meet loads of nice people all around BKK. I'm a Sukhumvit hound and have made friends in beer bars around the Soi's and in GoGo's, just say G'day and you'll be surprised how nice people are. I think it's beacuse everyone is just having a great time.
As for suits, there's a few places on Sukhumvit Road between Soi's 10 and 20. I had a suit made at a place (sorry the name eludes me) on the Northern side of Sukhumvit Road directly under the Asok BTS station. It was about $90AUD or $75USD for a full suit and it's great.
Enjoy your trip mate!

patnut, how was your massage ? straight up or happy ending ?
as others have said, i'm sure you'll soon make loads of new friends and acquaintances but if you fancy a beer, sms me on +66811429011
I'm only down the road in On Nut, it doesnt take me long to get to Sukhumvit.
I could do with the excuse to get me out of the house; if the missus will unlock my chains

Unless you can find an unlocking service in thailand player your not going to get much luck using that sim. Your handset is network locked to your parent network, o2, vodafone orange etc. That means you can only use your sim or one from the same network

you probably need to get 'global roaming' thru your sim supplyer but they usually charge both ways - both you and the person you phone, so it aint cheap.
easier to get a Thai pre-paid sim for 300baht - much easier and cheaper.

Looks like you have to unlock your GSM phone. I'm sure there are places in Thailand that do this for a fee.
I unlocked my Moto V3 in the Philippines a year ago for about $10.
The funny thing is, I could have easily done it myself if I only knew you just need to download a free software and use my mini-USB cable that came with my TI-calculator.
I'm pretty sure Nokia phones can unlock in a similar way. In fact, at the cellphone shop I went to in the Philippines, they said Motorola phones are more expensive to unlock. Its all bull, since it only takes 10 sec to actually unlock the damn thing if you know what you're doing.
If you have access to fast internet, I suggest searching for some free software to unlock your phone and getting a cable (whichever one your phone uses to connect to a PC). Or just take it to a cellphone shop and ask to unlock.

Don't use your UK sim to make or receive calls
£5 80 for a 3 minute call on Orange, you are looking at roughly £2 00 a minute
Get your phone unlocked, and buy a One 2 call simcard.
