The Bedrooms Boutique Hotel
Hi guys..
I will be arriving in Bangkok next month. Came across this hotel "The Bedrooms Boutique Hotel", and it looks really good on the webpage.
Anyone have experiences staying here? is it GF?
Thanks in advance for any valuable inputs...
Ray

On Sawadee;com it gets good reviews. Do note that it is on soi 77, fairly far from the action. You can always email them to enquire whether they have any joiner fees.

it's just round the corner from where i live, it's right in a residential area so i don't think it'll be girl friendly. it's near On Nut BTS station right enough, but it's the last stop, so you'd be miles from the action.
my advice would be to get something closer to Cowboy/Nana, probably no further out than sukhumvit 33 or 24 (Phrom Pong station)

no problem about being away from the action... had been staying around suk soi 4 the last few times i am in bangkok. Kinda bored with the area now. Moreover, this gal i know stays around soi 72 or 74, so it will be good to be near here.
Just hope that there wun be any problem bringing her up to my room if she decides to stay over for the night
Anyone have the hotel's email address so that i can ask them?

i just popped down and asked for you.
their direct tel nr is +6627403691 fax +6627403696. their email address is info@thebedrooms.com, www.the bedrooms.com
I asked about internet booking, apparently they dont have a discount for direct booking but you may get a discount thru their online agent, sawadee.com.
the prices below are their rack rate, the receptionist told me that she would offer me a 10% discount as I live locally and would be booking 'for a friend":
superior 1,800 per day (9,000 per week)
deluxe 2,100 / 10,500
executive corner 2,700 / 13,800
all prices include breakfast.
I have to say that first impressions were very positive. It's spotlessly clean, well attended by helpful english-speaking honies on reception. there's free wi-fi throughout and the rooms look very nice (no, I'm not a salesman for them ! )
best of all, she even looked stunned when I said "my friend" might want to bring a lady back, any problem, any extra charge ? Absolutely no problem !! No extra charges :-)

Hi rathcoole_exile
wow... really appreciate the trouble you went through to get all those information. Its been a great help.
Just check out the pricing on sawadee.com and a superior room cost 1250thb. Will do the booking from there i guess.
Thanks again man.
Cheers....

Hey Rathcoole, is that Rathcoole in Dublin. Do you have any info on the Holiday Inn Silom. Is it close to the action? I believe it is not G/F. I am booked in this hotel in July

I believe the H.I. is definitely NOT G.F.
close to PhatPhong, which as you may know, is well out of flavour, particularly with BMs. Tuk-tuk will probably charge 80-100 each way up to Nana.
Rathcoole is in Newtonabbey, Belfast. I think the 'Cool in Dublin doesn't have the -e ending ?
enjoy your trip in July !

Nana is an entertainment plaza (NEP). A three level complex with several go-go's and bars, all geared for the P4P (Pay for pleasure). Nana is one of three such areas in Bangkok: Patpong, Nana and Soi Cowboy. Both Soy Cowboy and Nana are in close proximity (2 km or less) and between the two there are many bars; especially around Nana. Both Nana and Soi Cowboy are off Sukhumvit Road.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn in Silom a number of times, each time has been either for business or I have been checking in with "company". I don't know for sure whether they are guest friendly or not, but many say it is not so take their word for it; or at the least send them an email and ask directly (and specifically). If the email is affirmative save a copy and if possible book for double occupancy.
Other than the guest issue it is a great hotel. Lots of good restaurants around and relatively close to Patpong.
If you have plans to bring guests back to your hotel, it could ruin it if the hotel will not allow you to do so. If you think you may spend most of your time at or near Nana/Soi Cowboy, forget the Holiday Inn and book near your playground.

Send them an email and see whats will come out of it. If you can make the booking for double occupancy ... at the very least you have the argument that you booked for two ... you and a guest.
Out of favour: Some bars in Patpong has the reputation of serious over charging for drinks. For all I know that is sporadic and when it does happen it tend to be on the second floor establishments. Patpong is the "original" of the three P4P areas in Bangkok and some would say that all the action has moved to Sukhumvit area. Personally, my experiences at Patpong are limited and cannot accurately give you all the details.
Nana / Soi Cowboy are (guessing a bit) about 7-8km from Holiday Inn Silom. Taxis are cheap and will probably set you back 100 baht or so.

So of the 3 areas, which would you recommend as being the best. Also, if you get a Taxi or Tuk Tuk do you just ask them to take you to Nana or Soi Cowboy.

you could always take the MRT subway from Silom to Asok for soi Cowboy. or the BTS skytrain from Sala Daeng to Nana (and on to Asok) via Siam Central station.
it's very quick, very cheap and in evening rush hour probably much quicker than going by road.
last train back is around midnight, you might have a "friend" with you anway, so you'll definetly need a taxi back.
most important, make sure he agrees to put the metre on. these c*nts would charge you 200 or even 300 for a 80 baht trip otherwise.
whether you go by car or train, when you pitch up in Nana area, the multi-level Plaza is just inside on the left of soi 4.
there are plenty of other good places around, for an early start try the Beer Garden on soi 7, right outside Nana station. for a late night cap and plenty of freelancers after the Plaza, cross the soi into the Nana Hotel, Angels Disco is great.
enjoy ......

I have no (or little opinion) on Patpong.
As for Soi Cowboy and Nana; like them both.
Here are a couple of threads comparing the two:
Nana v Cowboy
Soi Cowboy v Nana Plaza
