Bangkok around Christmas /Questions

Hey Guys

I know its a little bit early to speak in April about Christmas. But one thing interests me.

I heard the Bar and Entertainment places in Bangkok close usually 1 or 2 am?
Is this true?
The reason why i ask is: I will arrive in BKK 24 december around midnight. A f****ing shitty time to arrive. So when i get out the customs and arrive in the hotel its about 1.30 am. After a short shower I want to enjoy my first night in BKK. When its 24 december do the bars close later? In Patong some of them closed later last december.

Another question is. What do you prefer Nana Plaza, Patpong or other places in BKK for nightlife? Thanks for the advices!

as far as i know most places stay open til 5 am on xmas eve and new years eve........nana plaza......cool spot,
