Woraburi and Jasmine Suites.. joiner fees now apply apparently

From the Thailand Hotels site...

Flash message on homepage shows "Woraburi Inn and Jasmine Suites are no longer guest friendly. Charge joiner fees now even if you book a double."

Is this an example of Thai "shoot yourself in the foot" management? Or do they just hope that enough people don't know they can get better deals elsewhere and keep paying?

Food for thought.

I think the woraburi have been trying it on with joiner fees for ages..

Even a couple of years back they used to try.. I booked in one night and when booking in said 'no joiner ok ??' I got smiles and semi nods but kinda non committal.. I reckoned they were going to try it on so I kept pushing until I got a clear OK answer (wasnt easy.. I am sure they were trying to 'smile' through it and still hit me) and I wasnt then charged.. But I am 99% sure if I had just assumed it was going to be added in the am.

Never stayed at Jasmine.

OK - I am beginning to learn. Just like in Indonesia where I cut my Asian teeth - so to speak - all things are negotiable.

Some are better at negotiating than others of course!

I think they make it QUITE CLEAR on their website any extra peeps are 300bt so a bit unfair to say they are taking the piss when it is marked on their website. Go elsewhere if you don't like it.

Probably they do now, but bear in mind we were posting about this about a year ago. I'd prescribe an aspirin and a good lie-down for your flying-off-the-handle condition though.

and a pair of specs....!!!

BTW doesn't make it right just because they put it on a website...if you book a double you should be able to have 2 people in the room...simple as that!

I would always question when booking because as LiL says above some places will drop it if you tell them you will have a guest (who will be the second part of your double) but you are not prepared to pay JF
