Bars with best types of beer?
My name is Matt and I am a beer snob
I've searched a bit on here for bars with a nice selection of beer around the Sukumvit area, but to no avail. Any BMs know of any bars around the Suk that offer something more than Heinekin and the assortment of Thai beer?
I am planning on staying at the Unico Grande Suk (they have a promotion during August, not a bad deal) and it's on Soi 1, I'm not familiar with that area at all... I've always been a SC guy, just wanna change it up a bit. I know there is the Bamboo bar there, that's about it. If all else fails I'll head to Nana area, there has to be good beer to be had there. I know on Soi 22 there is a nice restraunt that has damn good German beer there.
Whew it's been a long 5 months without beer and the only whiskey I come across taste like jet fuel.
So any help would be great.

i usually stay at a hotel on soi 1 suk when in bkk, there is a german resturant, with german beers about half way along the soi on the left hand side walking towards sukumvit.
once you get onto suk and and turn left, you will go past a little food market, cheap food there, and next to that set just back off the road is a bar area, its the old soi zero bars. dont know too much about what the have in beer variety but you might get lucky.

forgot to mention Bullys bar, on sukumvit, just continue down suk, come to the pedestrian overpass, step past the strategically placed beggars, and next to the champagne room bar is bullys, farang food and import/local licence beers.
customers there are a mix of expats/expat suits, and tourists, some pool tables there, sometimes music, and some low pressure bgs, the bgs are experienced hands and would make good tour guides if you need that.
also crossing onto that side of the street its on the same side as nana so you avoid crossing suk later down the street.

Also the Irish bar on Soi 4. About 2 mins walk up opposite Hillary's is Hanrahans or Hanratty's... Nice food and good selection of imported beers!

Bars and Pubs
Awesome sounds great I'll check them all out... I'll start at the 'soi 0' area work my way to soi 33.
Also I found this link, it list a few known bars. I'm sure mostly everyone has heard of a place called Bourbon St. The best Cajun restraunt outside of the States. They even serve some decent beer. The rest of the Washington Square area is like walking into Bangkok 1977. But that's how they like it. Washington Square is more for meeting up with fellow expats and getting some business going.

Bully's has really evolved into an excellent all round bar since it 1st opened. Excellent food, beer, pool tables, some bg's and friendly staff.

The Londoner is great place to meet up/ start off on a Soi 33 ramble. They have a pretty good happy hour as I recall.
