One of the best Japanese restaurants in BKK would be the Shogun in the Dusit Thani. But expensive, and closer to Silom (Rama IV).
Close by, between Rama IV and Patpong, you have Soi Thanya. A soi full of Bars for Japanese, plus restaurants and golf shops in Thanya Plaza.
