bangkok bar report - just an opinion
Recently spent a few days in BKK b4 heading down to Pattaya - here is a summary :
Hotel : stayed at Majestic Suites , great location and very guest friendly - rooms are OK , paid 1800 per night for Deluxe Double inc a dodgy breakfast. Soi Cowboy : oh Boy ...... I have been to SC a few times before and always had a great time there , favouring it over Nana as its a bit more risque... but on this occasion was amazed at how standards appear to have dropped , bar review as follows : Long Gun : 30+ ladies , seem to be in competition for longest pussy hair - some pretty well worn examples - if u are into nude but hairy gals this is the place 2 go. Raw Hide : Thought i had stepped into a line for the pensioners bingo nite - semi-nude , needed a major red-bull injection , noticeable that I was the only male in there ......(but not 4 long) Toy Bar : wins the competition for loudest music and stickiest floor ... lots of gals but majority would probably rcv calls from grandkids on birthdays etc... Baccara : good bar , cute women - only semi nude though ...good music and no hassle on ladies drinks .... Shark bar - nah..... not a patch on the Shark Bar in Pattaya - again pretty low level of energy or enthusiasm on display So, headed off to Nana .... quality went up (as did prices slightly) , classroom worked well , but the real star was a little bar in the corner called "Farang connection" or something like that..... only about 15 gals but all nude and fully up for some hands on fun - ladies drinks at Bhat 80 and reasonable music. Not the most glamourus bar but 4 sure the most interactive....try it. Thats it - I guessed that a number of the gals have taken the opportunity to bugger off home for low season so choice went down but overall decided that Pattaya was a better deal so cut my losses and headed down there.

Shark generally has the best looking girls in Soi Cowboy over the last year, but you are right, last time I was in there it was dull.
I've almost given up on go go's, I tend to go out with friends and I'd like to talk to them. My favourite Cowboy spot these days is out side one of the bars. people watching and good conversation is far more fun.

Cowboy is in need of some younger Cowgirls !
Glad to see you guys have the same opinion of Cowboy as I do.
Up until around five years ago & IMO Cowboy was better than Nana Plaza however, these days it is a distant second with plenty of veterans on parade.

You know. I perfer Cowboy over Nana. i find Nana more pushy and a little to sleezy for my liking. I find Cowboy more relaxing, and they have some great girls there. But hey each to there own.

I certainly don't share your opinion. I really don't like Nana, full of snotty brats who think they are some sort of superstar. Rainbow bars particularly. I'd much rather spend my time (like this evening) in Soi 33.

I prefer Cowboy as well, little more laid back. My favorite spots are Rawhide (some lame shows/music but a few good ones that make it worth the effort) and Baccara (they have started to expand the place and turn it into a house/trance lounge-feel as opposed to the repetitive cover music - it's a nice variation). Tilac bar is the nicest in terms of seating and ambiance and a good place for a chat with a mate, but the quality there is a little below average. But mostly, I think the bars on SC are good, just depends on your mood and what you are looking for.

Schmeen Yes, Soi 33 is nice and some places have a touch of class.
asiaasia My vote would be Pattaya every time. Definitely the best GoGo venue in Thailand combined with the most liberal opening hours & some GoGos open until 3am. And I hear what you blokes are saying about Cowboy, so maybe my last five or six visits have been badly timed but after visiting three or four places I am ready for the honeyz of Nana or Patpong (sometimes)

Ratchadapisek Soi 4
Suttisan Nawamin (another of my faves) However if people have to ask that these places exist...they certainly don't know enough to go there and cope with the places.

If it wasn't because I have stayed at the Swissôtel - Le Concorde Merchant Court Hotel on a number of occasions, I probably wouldn't have known about Ratchadapisek.
Some of the bars caters heavily to Asians, but there are a number of good ones and there is especially a lot of massage parlors (soapies) there. For anyone interested in exploring it is a few stops north of Soi Cowboy on the MRT. See map below.  CopaCabana, Spice Club and VIP are good bars. Claudia is for Asians "only". Emanuel's and Hi Class are good soapies and so is Utopia a couple of miles away. Caesars looks nice but has been near empty the few time I have visited. The Emerald Hotel has a great all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant.

Aaah...the MP's...
I was only talking bars and specifically Ratchada Soi 4 and it's suprrounding areas which has places such as hollywood and inch. You could also go further afield and mention Pracha-U-Thit where the legend that is Carribean is. And of course, no one has mentioned RCA. and Ekkamai but none of these are P4P areas.

SOI COWBOY is much better than nana looks to me that you simply went to the wrong SC bars the other side of the road is much better with better music and better looking and younger girls baccara/midnight/dollhouse/sheba to name just 4 nana plaza is just money money money from the minute you enter it its second only to soi eric in patong for ladies pushing for lady drinks generaly the ugly ones !
can anyone remember clinton plaza which was situated on sukhumvit on soi 5 its been gone now for about 5 years boy do i miss that place it was great the dollhouse was originally sited there !
