Majestic suites.........
I'd like to ask anyone who has stayed here about the noise levels, what with the skytrain and backing onto Nana I'm a bit concerned as my loom mate is a very light sleeper and can turn nasty if deprived of her 12hrs of beauty sleep. Can you use the pool at the majestic grande if you stay at the suites? I'm sure I read that somewhere. Also is it worth paying extra for a bigger room/bathroom? Stayed at the Majestic grande last time but this time due to a very extended stay I'm looking to cut costs to the bone(marrow) whilst not wanting to sleep under the expressway. Last time I did that I'd just be nodding off and a F***IN train would go by and wake me.

Lots of threads on Majestic Suites ... Look around
..in brief. Dont go for the smallest room size, the others are OK. MS rooms in general are smaller.
Yes you can use the pool at MG. A hassle to walk over there each time me think.
Welcome to the board.

I've never found noise to be an issue there, could be as much to do with beer as soundproofing but I sleep very well at Majestic Suites.

Thanks.
Yes have read everything here on the MS but noise levels are my main concern and haven't seen anything posted about those. Agree re pool but nice to have the option. Will miss the the Grande but the not the taxi drivers out the front but I think that feeling might be mutual after my last stay.

Have stayed there once and will stay there again in a month from now. Although our room was on the side of Soi 4 we didn't have problems with the noise comeing from the street.
If you want to be sure, then don't take the standard rooms and ask for a room away from Soi 4 side. Then you should be fine.
I don't know about sharing the pool with the other hotel.

Stayed there four times now.
The rooms at the front are quite enough no traffic or skytrain noise as such. I think these are the superior rooms.
I have been upgraded a couple of times at no extra cost to deluxe room. These were situated at the back overlooking Nana.
I did notice about 8 o'clock the boom boom noise from the bars but there again I was on my way out till about 4am so didn't notice it. Might be an issue if you plan having an early night but sleeping in, in the morning no problem

I always book superior room on the 7th or 8th floor. Never a problem for noise.
My friend stayed on 2nd floor which is non smoking I believe and he had no issues also.
great little hotel IMO.....

We had our superior room on the 4th floor. Also no problems with street noises.
Like Nelse says, the standard rooms are smallish.

Just thought i would add my comments, i have stayed there a few times and really like it, i was sitting outside it yesterday eating and there is a lot more noise coming from the traffic than the sky train, it just breezes past and if you dont see it you would hardly know its there.

I've stayed there many times as well, never any problems, as this is a very popular place. The biggest problem is trying to get a room, too many positive write-up on it, make it difficult to book at certain times.
