A few hotel options...

I was set to stay at Swiss Park hotel but read a few bad reviews and the fact that I am not sure if they have internet access at all (in room or lobby), anyone knows or have any experience with this place please let me know.

Stable Lodge was a another option that quickly disappeared as it has no in-room safe, I am a bit worried abut that, also I hear many old couples stay there, I wonder if my taking back 2/3 girls a day give them too much gossip !!!?

The Federal hotel also has no safe in room, but has pool & internet which is a must for me.

Now in a different class and rate (if I push the boat out and go for it) is the Grand President, has everything I want but Opal Studio is B2299 (in May) in Tower 3 and Executive Suite is B2599 in Tower 1 althugh more money I wonder if it is worth it ? (I hear some negative reports about Opal Studio @ Tower 3), any preferences ? (this is high rate but I am only staying a few nights each side of my thailand trip.)

First-hand experiences really appreciated....

I always stay at the Royal President on Soi 15 and in either a Cattleya Suite or a Jasmine Suite. Great rooms and about 3200 a night (120 AUD) with room safe, great pool that doesnt get a lot of sun so it stays cool all day, and a good gym. They also have a taxi or 2 parked in the grounds that will always use the meter, as well as a courtesy shuttle to Asoke station. Always happy there.
If you ever end up the don't take anything in the Park Wing like the Sapphire Suite. Its clean a whistle but old and tired and not good value.
By the way I was there 2 weeks ago.

It's mentioned many times in the Bangkok section..... you cannot go wrong with Majestic Suites. You'll pay around 1300 THB a night for a Superior Single. The rooms are clean, Maybe not as big as Grand President but a decent sized room... No noise coming from Sukhumvit, Walking distance to BTS and Nana, Brekkie is included. Have a look at previous posts about this hotel!

I have stayed in Opal studio at GP but I would never go back. Adelphi suites on soi 8 will satisfy all your needs for about 2499 per night. Great showers there you will gat all the girls in at the one time if you wish

For around 1400 baht a night Majestic Suites takes a bit of beating. The rooms are basic but clean and include a room safe. Showers work OK and deffo girl friendly. Location is terrific, 1 minute from Nana Plaza and 3 minutes from Gullivers, BTS, Hilary Pool Bars etc. I never use a swimming pool whilst in BKK so that is not an issue with me.

I have stayed at Majestic Grande for around 2800 baht and that is a good 4 star hotel. Rooms very good, location pretty good and Girl friendly. Buffet Breakfast very good.

I have stayed at the Royal President Sapphire suites on Soi 15 and agree with previous poster that they are old and a bit tired. Not bad but you could do better for the money.

I could pay 3000 baht per night but I don't spend much time in my room and as long as the basics work then why pay more. The 1600 baht per night I save at Maj Suites pays for my evening take away plus it's a terrific location when you come out of Nana with take away in tow and looking to get down to business in a hurry.

Last month I stayed at President Solitaire on Soi 11, here is my review of hotel http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ba...es-review.html

I booked the Platinum suite but they had cheaper suites there also... This hotel was at the end of Soi 11 near Citychic and Le Fenix. It was a fair walk from hotel to Sukhumvit. The hotel did offer a tuk tuk service tho and a motobike taxi was only 20 THB.

I have emailed LeFenix in the past and they say they are not GF but when at the hotel that may be different... Personally I would rather have the hotel say they are if they are... Rather than being coy about it.

I can recommend President Soiltaire as a great hotel and if you can afford it the Platinum suite is amazing!

August I will probably stay there again.

I agree with previous post about Majestic Suites...good hotel (safe in room...), good location and good price (arond 1400 / 1620 baht a night). Look at website Majestic Suites Hotel Bangkok. I was there with my girlfriend two weeks ago. Only problem is maybe too much success: can only stay 4 nights and after must leave because no more free rooms. Advice: for taxi driver (and "lost in translation" falang as I), say only "Sukkumvit, Soi 4"..because my limousine taxi driver make me a visit of hotels nearby (majestic grande,...).
For information, I found room 900bht/night near Victory Monument (found there because I played chess tournament at Century Park Hotel, just few meters)...and if you take BTS (sky train) it costs only 2 x 30 bht more to go easily to sukk rd /Nana station(note: BTS end midnight)..I'll post email about it if somebody is interesed with "507 apartments"

Unfortunately that same room at the Adelphi is now 3099bt. Agree it is an excellent room and imo was underpriced for the area at 2499bt. . Big room with a little kitchen stand with microwave and large fridge. Flat screen TV on wall and free internet in room. Very clean modern room. You get a nice cooked breakfast in the morning in the restaurant. They have a free computer and internet area in the lobby. Small pool and gym which are adequate. I used them everyday. The lobby is not big and there are not people all over the place. They take id of guest and no joiner fee and GF. Very close to nana sky train station

I stayed in Le Fenix recently, and can confirm it is GF. There is a lift directly from the carpark which bypasses reception, so it would not be a problem, but even when one girl volunteered to leave her ID with the security guard there was no joiner fee.
It's a nice hotel but a little too far to walk to Sukhumvit, although bikes / taxis are available.

Agree with everything you say, and it was excellent value at 2499 Bht, but now it is 3099 Bht (or 3699 Bht at weekends) it is not so good value, and I won't be staying there next visit.
