Nana Hotel
Any ex-pat s in Bkk know anything about the building work going on at the back of Nana hotel (bus stop) I was there in March and the pile driving started most mornings at 07:30. Going back in Oct and might change hotel even though I like the Nana (good memories).

Forget the building work, change hotels, Nan is a sh1thole. Try adelphi suites 2 mins walk away.

Start 0730 and sometimes work noisy up to midnight...Construction of an hi-rice condo...In March changed room to the other side and still there..

Never stayed there, however, that is what it appears to be; judging from a few visits there.

Nana Plaza, Nana Hotel.
A marriage made in heaven.
They'd be classed as trailer trash elsewhere.

Then I must be trailer trash too because I enjoy both places immensely...
Can you add a little more to your comment as to why you think the way you do?
Also, where is elsewhere? Say something...

If the caps fits wear it, both places are shit holes, any arguement to the contrary will be rather amusing.
The reference is if the places were in fact people they would be classed as trailer trash. Do you need a definition of that term?

By the way, there is nothing wrong with liking them, just don't try pretending they are something they are not.

I don't mind Nana Hotel. I only stay there for a night anyway. It is a great location if you are going to NEP for drinking "etc".
It is an older building and you get what you pay for. I usually just book it through Asiarooms.com and get a room which the window overlooks a wall about 4 feet outside it. 55555 I can bring my own views to the room if I want. 55555
The taxi service they offer is overpriced at I believe 680 THB to the air port this past stay.
Rooms are of decent size, fridge, tv etc.
The shower heads are low and come to below my shoulders though.
I forgot the point of this thread, but I was having fun thinking about being in LOS again. 55555

So, let's argue then. You made a statement so defend it and get "amused" at the same time perhaps....
Second sentence you: places = people = trailer trash.... Got it. NO I don't get it... translation please???

Defence: It's a shit hole.
NEP: Shithole, smelly bars the sort of place where if you needed a shit you'd walk over to gullivers and do it there.
You feel free to argue that they are high class....I'll enjoy.
As for the analogy, if you are not bright enough to get it, I can help you no further.
Oh damn you insinuated I get shagged by LB's....OK..OK...with that tactic, you win.
I admit. NEP and the Nana Hotels are high class establishments full of the finest of Thai people from all walks of life.
There you are, it's now officially true.

High class?????
Nobody said anything about it being classy (nana)or that we're there for the culture and want the place to smell of roses. We're there to enjoy ourselves and get away from our usual haunts. The reason the nana hotel is old and in need of a good re-fit is because it's always near full occupancy and as long as the punters keep coming back they don't need to do much to it.

always funny how every one is talking about the nana and people staying there, always makes me wonder if we are all going to Thailand for the art and culture.
I have seen bigger slumps then the NANA and lots of people staying there
They clearly cater for a market even when you would not stay there yourself.
We always complain about be getting the stamp when telling we go to Thailand, however we are fast giving the stamp when staying at Nana
As far as I can see they are convenient for SKY train, embassys, getting to Panthip, getting along SUK and to visit NEP and that for about 1200 baht
ok there are a lot of other hotels that offer about the same but then they are also rather run down compared to other hotels that I would prefer (platinum suite in Solitaire is nice but bit more expensive then a week longtime as that s the currency many of you best understand)

I've stayed at the Nana quite a lot over the last 4 years and I've enjoyed every visit. The carpets are a little worn in some rooms and sure the decor could use a refreshing but the rooms are always clean and the staff has always treated me well.Yes there are rooms where the window faces a wall.Ask for another one, they can usually accomodate.I wouldn't stay there if it was a real dive.
In fact if places were people????I'd let the Nana give me a BJ anyday!
I've stayed at both the Landmark and the Shangri La,nice hotels to be sure, but I just have more fun staying at the Nana.I've also stayed at the Dynasty, both old and new rooms but still the Nana wins as my favorite practical "all in one" hotel.Ironicly,The king size beds in the Nana are,for me, more comfortable than either the Shangri la or the Landmark.
I like the 24 hour restaurant for it's convenience and free buffet breakfast
I like Angels Disco, plenty of talent there most nights after midnight, short walk to the room.
I like the outdoor pool,a nice relaxing place to chill
I love having NANA PLAZA so close The plaza might appear dirty but the girls clean up real nice.
I like the gold shop.....NO wait a minute!...I hate the gold shop.5555555
I like a hotel where I can change and cancel bookings at the last minute with no charge or hassle.
I like the visitors, some weirdos yes,but a lot of surprisingly interesting individuals from all walks of life, and usually very approachable because we're all at the Nana to HAVE FUN!!!
Sh1thole is a relative term.I think it's a little harsh but I certainly welcome the opinion of anyone who has actually stayed at the Nana before. And NO,walking through the lobby doesn't count.55555555
Here's some pics from my November tour. This is the type of room I usually get(deluxe).A little tired, yes. Sh1thole?.... Up2u

I have attached a few pics from what I believe is a standard room which is very adequate for my purpose of sleep, shower, sh*t, shag. A couple different rooms from last September.
I don't mind the lack of view as when I get in the room I am already running full speed to shower and unpack to get out in the city. Would probably blow out a knee or turn an ankle with the added excitement of a view. 55555
The toilets seem very clean. 55555
