Bangkok - Need a plan of action. Bangkok experts please

3 of us will be arriving in Bangkok in mid Jan at around 11:30 pm. Not wanting to waste time we have decided to get right into the action. We want to go to the Q bar, but I do not know Bangkok at all and need advice on a good close place to stay as to save as much time from airport to hotel to partytime. If anybody has advice and how to make this plan work the best please help. I am sure others have pulled this off, but I need a good plan. By the way where is the Q bar in relationship to the hotspots, and where are the hotspots?

Pick one of these hotels that have a good review and are guest friendly with NO JOINER FEE for your ''guest''
The reviewers are regulars in los so they do mention everything about the hotel , standard of hotel , location , price , no hassle with bringing back girls etc... stick to the ones in the budget (up to 1000baht) or mid range (1000 - 2000 baht) and you will have less problems from staff with ladies as the top hotels usually don't like it.
As for what location to stay , anywhere on Sukhumvit Road or any of the smaller soi's off this road.
Nana hotel for example is a popular choice simply because it's right opposite Nana Entertainment Plaza ...
You haven't mention if you are going there for the ladies as such as you have only mentioned wanting to visit a club - Q bar so i hope this helps

the Q BAR can be hard to finde if it is your first time in bangkok. so from Sukhumvit main road go all the way down Soi 11 and turn left at the last available road on the left, the Q bar is just at the end on the corner

Good hotel that's quite near the Q Bar is the Manhattan on Soi 15. Mid-range price, good value and guest friendly too.

By the way, central Sukhumvit really isn't that long. For instance (and assuming you're sober

), you can walk from Soi 4 to Soi 33 in about 20 minutes. And that will take you past all the major hotspots such as Nana, Soi Cowboy and the artist bars. The only hotspot it doesn't take in is Patpong, which most people could live without anyway.

Mate, not sure about the closing times in BKK at the moment. But if you land at 11.30, chances are you won't get down to Sukhumvit till about 12.30 or even 1 o'clock - and you might find things are closing by then.

But in any event, Q Bar is really full-on and it might be a bit too in your face if you've just got off the plane.

A good alternative plan would be to head for Soi 4, Sukhumvit, and book your hotel rooms there. The Majestic Suites is a great choice - good value, great views if you ask for a room on a higher floor and totally girl friendly. There's also the Woraburi which is OK but not as good. But there's loads of fun right on the doorstep along Soi 4.You've got the famous Nana Plaza - which is about as full-on as it gets, but you can move around from place to place within it and see what takes your fancy. Then all along Soi 4 there are loads more bars, some of them really quiet and easy going, some of them madhouses. And best of all there's the car park at Nana Hotel, dead across the street from Nana Plaza which is a sight to behold - especially at closing time!

So you'd be able to pack a lot into those few hours, crash out and be ready for Q Bar the following night!

alright there!
fancied going to q bar myself,looks like a cool sort of up market bar,a bit different to the likes of nana ,bangla etc.
Being a dj myself i was quite intrested in the sort of music and the special nights they got going on down there,i noticed a few good headliners playing down there.
browsing the website and it looks like they get some hot chicks going on.
so really just wondering whats the deal in the q bar,opening times,music,prices.....anymore info would be much appreciated

If you are landing at 11.30pm...by the time you clear customs or just get out of the airport you are not in with a chance of making the bars if they are still closing at 1am !!!

Last time our plane landed an hour early and we went to Pattaya with perfect timing. Guess we will have to hope for the same. Thanks for the info.
