can confirm this place is awesome! The enterainment is good and I thought the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Tom Yum Goong Nam Kon - the best I've ever had anywhere in Thailand. I also can also recommend the steamed snapper with nam jim seafood and rice. Being with a TG the tabled was covered with an assortment of dishes, enough to feed a family. Drank and suffed myself silly. Went into a food coma afterwards. A perfect spot to take your tirak.

Yep, I have been to both places many times and can recomend them. The owner of these places has certainly got a great formula for success. Great food and great beer backed by top service. (Not too difficult really) Their fried pork knuckle is my favourite

Why do you post these TR's as images ?? It makes them unsearchable, un indexable, and when viewed on a high res screen the text is too small to read and is hard to expand..
Theres a reason why posts are done as text with embedded images.

been loads of times ..... good night out for a change,as i find myself trying to find other tings to do around bangkok these days....just to mix it up a bit.
top beer and food, recently expanded their menu also, the speciality there is the ka moo kob(pork knuckle/leg),the best ive tasted.
get there early if u want a decent seat,or if u ask nicely they will seat u first then move u when something better comes up.
3 different home brews,i would reccomend sampling them all....then get a tower of the one u like most

It's faster to put together the TR using an external program which allows me to edit photos and text on the same screen. It also gives me more control over layout and graphic effects as well as the ability to put more than one photo on a "page." It saves time to batch upload the finished pages and photos to a hosting site and then link to them, rather than uploading the photos individually.
Normally my posts will contain a key word in the title line that shows up in searches, but from now on I will manually enter a few key words with the board's text editor at the end of the post. I'll also adjust the text size so it's larger.

Looks like a great place, will have to keep it in mind. Kind of reminds me of the old "Coliseum" that I hear has closed down now . Had some great times in that place, as well as Hollywood! I had some great vids of both places (when they would let me bring my camera in, the last time they took it) but lost them when a hard drive crashed...

The places are huge, I am not kidding. And they pack them in on the usual Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun nights. If you intend going it would be a good idea to book.

If you are no too nervous about going into the sticks go to Tawan Daeng Ram Intra, straight up the ram intra highway off the north end of Ekkamai.
The bands playing up there are far better and they also have a superb acrobats show from 7pm onwards.

Thanks, I'll try to give it a go - not afraid of the sticks at all - further away from the normal tourist sh1t the better

Balee Laos Restaurant
Rather than start a ne thread, I'll just tack on this brief report about another restaurant that doesn't get too much farang trade.
The Balee Laos is an Isaan-Lao restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 16 in Bangkok, across the street from the Garden Grove Suites. The food is excellent and while not cheap, it isn't expensive either. The cost for the meal below (Isaan appetizers and steamed fish) with a couple of bottles of beer was 700 baht. The girls love eating familiar dishes in pleasant surroundings. It's definitely worth a try if you want to take a girl to a nice restaurant that isn't fancy.

Yes, they've done that for me a few times...the service staff are generally very nice. Agree it is a fun place and the food is good. It's pretty big but I've been there a few times when it was completely packed...
