Skytrain/subway from the airport?
I was just wondering if the skytrain runs from the airport or a subway/train connects to the service, I would like to get off (lol) at nana station. If not approx. price/best way to get there.
Thanks.

Take a taxi meter (200 bath to nana) or a airport taxi (500 - 600 bath)

Skytrain dont go to Airport but you can take a taxi to the closest skytrain station and use the skytraine for the rest of the fare. Sorry I dont remember the name but I am sure the taxi driver know.

Take a meter taxi...
1) Request politely the driver use the meter, if he balks, be firm but not rude.
2) Then tell him to use the tollroad and that you will pay the toll fees.
3) Breakdown in price as follows:
a) Meter will read about 150 baht
b) Airport charge: 50 baht exit fee
c) Tolls: 70 baht
4) Give him 230 baht at hotel
5) Total cost 300 baht for a 30-35 minute ride. It's a bargain.

As for me, I wanted to do the Skytrain ride because I wanted to experience it, not to save money. If you are going to BKK and never did the Skytrain before then try it out.
Same in KL, I tried the new express train from Airport to KL Sentral and then took a taxi to my hotel. On my way back to Phuket, I used taxi to airport.
Hm, I havent tried the new subway in Bangkok yet.

The skytrain is a good system as long as you are heading down sukumvit or certain basic areas.. But when I have bags and luggage I cant be ****ed with all those steps

There is an overground station right opposite the airport.
Walk over the road and get a train to Hualompong.
From the connect to the underground and get a train to Sukhumvit.
Then go upstairs and get the skytrain to Nana.
Should take a couple of hours and you get to try all 3. You'll be hot and sweaty by the time you reach the hotel so you'll make better use of the shower.
Alternativly you could get your taxi from the airport, depending on the time of day you could be in Nana in 20 minutes for B300 all in (of course it could be longer) then hit Nana Plaza, Skytrain (BTS) to Soi Cowboy, and then underground (MRT) to Patpong.
Surely the latter is a far better hattrick??
