Khon Kaen
hi guys,
i'm going to LOS in february for two month. i want to go to Khon Kaen for a while and was wondering if someone could give me some advices, as i know some of you have already been there. i'm interested in the whole BG scene there, hope there is one... do you guys know any guest friendly hotels or guesthouses, more budget than expensive ones preferred? any nice places to spend the nights? any advices would be highly appreciated, thanks a lot for your help!!!

i wouldnt say there was a bg scene as such there.it is more like going out in your local town and pulling yourself.its a uni town so plenty of skirt and they all seem to love westerners,me and my mate was flocked by them.that said there where girls that would go for money.just not loads.and they dont really stand out as there aint the bars typical to pattaya/patong/bkk.no barfines etc.i would recomend the pp hotel its where i was recomended to stay,near the nightlife,approx 5 minute walk from time square(the nightlife hub).we payed 350 baht a night for a room and there is no joiner fee.as i said its a university town so there will be plenty of girls,you just gotta do a bit more footwork,but not much more.everywhere me and my mate went we had loads of girls asking about us and joining us for drinks.got right on the girl i was withs nerves. hit the clubs for birds for cash. also its well cheap compared to patong,food and drink at least a thrid cheaper sometimes a lot more cheaper than that. also it was well cold at night,pack some jumpers,you will need them.daytime very hot nighht very cold.i had to buy a jumper it got that cold at night. bars got busy pretty early,around 7 i think because the majority of the drinkers had uni next day.open til about 1 for bars and 3 for clubs. steve

Steve its only cold at night Nov-Jan after that its slightly cooler at night than Phuket typically 21-22 celcius

thanks jonas, that helped a lot.
my plan was to go to kk tomorrow, but i'm having such a great time in BKK, really got to know the right people... might stay a bit longer than expected here. but am staying in los until april 4th, so there is plenty of time to go north east.

when you have time to april 4th .... , take it later !!!! You are a lucky Bastard that have so long time in LOS What can i say !! now in Sweden - 1 degree and snow is falling down .

i've heard similar from berlin, ****ing cold there.
about kk: that's what people are telling me here as well, "still wanna go to kk? there's nothing up there." they should know it, coming from the area. but promised myself to leave bkk at least once... hope your next trip isn't to far away!

i finally did it, arrived in KK with the night train 6 am today. PP hotel was full so they took me to leo hotel. it's seems like the whole hotel has no room with a double bed, only two single beds in every room. hope a room is available at pp tomorrow. but will probably leave earlier than planned, probably sunday to phitsanulok for the night, the day after to chiang mai. the reason for this short trip to KK is my gf in BK, she already called me 5 times today to tell me she is missing me
 so i will start to check out the nightlife soon, hope it's worth it...
