Pathum Thani is about 40 or 50 km's north of Bangkok. Did you see this hotel already?

Compared to Euro or American Theme parks its pretty mild, but of course for Thailand its a novelty..

Depending on traffic it can be a 30 - 45 min taxi to get from downtown central and out on a clear, low traffic, day.. of course if you know BKK it can take an hour to get from central to outer areas on a bad day..

Thanks for the info, I had imagined it would take alot longer but as you said the traffic in Bangkok is unpredictable and dangerous to say the least!
