Question Oriental Hotel Bangkok

Hi folks,
i´ll plan to fly over to LOS next year, and i´d like to know whether anybody of you has experiences with the oriental hotel bangkok. is it "guest" friendly or not ?
i thought of the oriental because my familiy is connected with it, or at least WAS 130 years ago.
another necessary information i need is: what is the minimum age to go to clubs/nightclubs and so on in bkk. 18 or 21 ? a friend of mine will be 20 when our flight are scheduled.

thanks and bye

Oriental Hotel.

I've stayed there three times the last occasion being November 2004, it is a stunning place in a idyllic location (request a room with a river view)
Each time i have checked in my chosen partner has been with me and therefore registered as an legitimate guest, no problem there.
In common with all Bangkok 4/5 star Hotels you shall not be able to get ''service girls'' in to your room. However, some shall bend the rule upon payment of a fee which will certainly be more than you have negotiated to pay the girl!
You have to remember these high class hotels are family orientated and not interested in the single male tourist who is in town on a mission! That market is well catered for elsewhere.

With regard to age in Bar's & Disco's etc; Entry to Night Clubs/Disco's is strictly enforced among Thai people and younger looking farangs with an ID check at the door, the required age is 20+. Bar's are more flexible and most appear to serve anyone anything.

Enjoy

as i read your post, it´s not to easy for him to "accoumplish" his mission because he´s not 21 then.
we´ll see, if we wait till he can enter discos and clubs too.

I'm 40 and I get ID'd almost every time I enter a club in Bangkok Q Bar, Le Club, all of them. Most Thai doorman don't have a clue how old we are.

Most 5 star hotels are very GF, the Oriental though can be one exception.

Can depend on how she carries herself, but they will refuse entry to some, whereas the Shangrila, Landmakr, Conrad and Dusit are well aware customer is King.

everywhere?

I suggest they didn't try to enter any of the clubs that ID.

Go Go's and bars don't ID, clubs do.

Not strictly true. I stayed at the Shangrila hotel, one of the best 5* hotels in Bangkok. Took 8 girls back to the room, manager welcomed me & my mate with open arms. He just made sure he bundled us into the lift quickly

Same manager next day organised a soapy for us and had free chauffer driven service there and back

Now that what I call service

Shangri La has always had a reputation for the paying guest being able to do what he wants

Bloody right too.....
