Will be in Bkk for a few days soon and staying Soi 19 Sukhumvit near Soi Cowboy.
Does any one know if there any open air beer barns (beer gardens) in the day time any where near there please?
Or where is a good spot close to there for a drink in the day time or afternoon.

There is an open-air beer garden right opposite the Manhatten Hotel which, IIRC, is on Soi 15 - not, by the look of it, a big BG hang-out like Soi 7.

Isn't Soi 19 more or les opposite Times Square? There are some cafe type tables out front of that, live music in late aftenoon, but don't know if they serve beer. Decent-sized internet cafe on first floor too.

I don't know Bkk hardly at all. I know Dynysty near Nanna and i know where Soi Cowboy is and that is about it. I usely only stay one night and fly out the next morning as Bkk is a bit crowded and polluted for me.
Hope to find out a little more this trip as i will be there for a few days.

nice map Tyfon. I would expect that they have more maps of Bangkok on the site but do they have maps of other areas in Thailand?

There are other areas?

(yes other areas are covered, see the menu to the right, but the suk map is just the best and clearest I've come across)

I understand, just like being fixated on Patong in Phuket. I did have a good time in Patpong but it was in 2001 and most everyone now says that Nana is it in Bkk.

What was I thinking?

I did not see Majestic Suites on the map but know it is near Nana.

beer garden were great was heaps in sydney once but a lot have disappeared
maybe with the new smoking laws may reappear

I beleive it's between nos 104 and 112 on the map. I'll let you have a review in three weeks or so

I know how you feel there. Just saw a spectaular asian girl out here a few days ago and she was running past my car while I was parked. Had the whole package and wearing a great outfit. Then yesterday a really cute little amerasian spinner(you can put her on your lap and spin her around) so I am ready to go also. I have a group trip for scuba diving in Philippines in November but am looking to do a LOS trip in late April or early May 2006. Can't go earlier as I was in PI in March for 2 weeks so unlike Europeans no more vacation time left.

You should have gone over, bought him a few drinks, have him pass out on the bar, take her home for ST, bring her back to bar, wake him up and send him on his way after paying for his taxi. Yeah, right. If only.

Great maps Tyfon, Wish I had one like that when I was there, Maybe I would of had a better experience, At least I can bring it with me next time

Seafox, Tyfon is spot on, Its in between 104 and 112 on the map and its a great hotel, I stayed in the deluxe room and it was quite big, No view at all from my room expect of the building beside me..55555.. But I didnt go there for the view anyway

Its guest friendly, And right in the centre of everything and the staff are really helpfull, One of the better hotels I stayed in, Also I booked through www.asiahotels.com which seems to be cheaper than anywhere else for this hotel.

I will be doing some diving, in the water also, when i am there.
I was in Porot Galera last year and liked it and i want to go to PI again this year, Boracy has a good reputation.

Hope This Gets To You In Time If You Are Staying On Soi 19 Walk To The Bottom Of The Road And Turn Right Walk For 2 Mins And You Come To Soi 7/1 There Are About 12 Bars There Open From 12 Noon And Also The World Famous Eden Club Open From 1300 Hours Lots Of Nice Bgs There In Daytime In The Next Soi Along Soi 7 You Have The Equally Famous Beer Garden I Have Been There At 1300 And Theere Have Been Many Ladies There If You Go To Soi Cowboy Theere Are 3 Bj Bars Open From 1400 One Is Called The Toy Bar Walk To Bottom Of Soi 19 And Cross Over The Road Then Walk Along To The Right You Will Come To Soi 8 Walk Up There And Down The Second Alley On The Right Side You Will Find Lolitas Bar Good Looking Girls With Rooms Upstairs

I thought Lollies in Soi Cowboy now is closed has relocated closer to Nana (i.e. btwn 104& 111 on the map)....?

Soi 8 is pretty close to Nana (soi 4) few 100 meters and much closer than Cowboy..

If you are looking for a decent beer bar then straight head to "DOWN UNDER " the aussi bar in Soi 7 in Sukimvit.... the boss Rob is a cute guy he has few charming girls around.. Sandwitch served on the house at nights..
The place is safe, with no boatherations...
