Yes, it was brilliant - but, I never read the book. One of Michael Caine's deeper performances and the actress who plays his mistress is a cutey!

Very good adaption of Greenes book.. Subtle, nicely paced.. Like all of Greenes work no clear heros or villians each charechter a complex set of conflicting emotions and shades of good and bad..

Great book..................great movie............fantastic art direction.....and Brendan Frazer can act.....who'd a thought that!!!!

and for those who have travelled in Vietnam......lots of great scenes set in Ho Chi Minh and Hoi An made brilliantly to look like genuine period

ive known about this movie for ages, but had never saw it.
caught it on tv about 2 months ago, wrote a review in the chit chat section and was glad i saw it now, after being in SE Asia, gave me a better appreciation

marc26 know se asia hasnt changed much but it was based in 1952
when I got the book it took a while,daughter had to order it in.
try and get a copy worth the read.
by graham greene i think Livinlos recomended it to me.

Saw this movie soon after my return frm my second tour in 2003. Blew my f*cking mind!!! A must-see for every BM, IMHO!!! 5 stars out of 5!!!!
