Randy Rhodes solo in Crazy Train with Ozzy. Or the solo in Mr Crowley is even better....
Most of the stuff from Mickey Moodey and Bernie Marsden in Whitesnake....

Can't believe Carlos Santana isn't on the list. Oh well.
My list would include Samba Pa Ti from Santana.

Hmm interesting but very subjective. Depends on the music you like I would say.
For me, Joint No 1 would be Comfortably Numb & Freebird.
One for the top ten should have been Eric Claptons solo on The Beatles "While my Guitar Gently Weeps"

I think that magazine didn't have the b@lls to anger their Led Zepplin fans or they would have put Eruption where it belongs.
But to each his own. They're all good songs.
It's interesting though that EVH's Eruption became legendary without being part of hit song and with virtually no airplay.

For technicality and complexity surely Joe Satriani or Steve Vai should make it in there...
Remember being really impressed with those guys back in the day.. In fact I think I have a copy of Surfing with the Alien somewhere around..

YYZ - Rush, guitar - Alex Lifeson, Drums - Neil Peart
Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young
For my money Neil Peart is the greatest drummer ever

The guy is a rock god.
I used to think his harder music was great. Then a buddy turned me on to his mellower acoustic guitar and piano stuff which I never realized he did. Really talented guy.

Listen to Lifeson on "FreeWill" Dave. He just goes OFF.
Peart is the undisputed king, in my book.
I'm more of an indie rock guy nowadays though arena rock is definitely in my blood. Seen 'em all back in the day, you name it.

So true IJ , Agnus Young is a mad man with his tool , but there are so many good bands and guitar pickers out there when you come to think of it!
That Knopfler dude , Eddie Van Halen , Jimmy Page , Yngwie Malmsteen , the guys in Sonata Arctica , Rush , Symphony X etc .. we could probably go on with this for ever (that´s a very long time)
.. and just for Denver ... Bjorn in ABBA
