Matador

I came across this in a brief review of Pierce Brosnan's new film "Matador"

Brosnan has more funny lines about Thai ******s than I believe have ever been presented in one film, and his stroll through the lobby of the four-star business hotel carrying a can of beer and dressed in nothing but a Speedo and black boots had me practically rolling on the floor. See it in the theater or on DVD, because the “f” word is used so frequently, the airplane version – if one is even possible – will sound like one big bleep.

Is it set (partly) in Thailand then..?

No nothing on Thailand IIRC.. There was a scene in PI I think but only a brief one.. He does make lewd and crude lines all through the movie though.. As in "you couldnt get me to do that for all the teenage twat in Thailand" etc..

It IS very funny though but be warned my funny bone is really tickled by black dark comedy (Dr Strangelove is one of my top 5.. mutually assured destruction.. What could be funnier !!!)..

In this Brosnan plays a hit man who is going through a breakdown / crisis.. The characterisation is really superbly done and played.. He thinks hes cool with his cuban shirts (that dont quite fit) and gold chains but he just misses the mark.. Hes socially inept yet with a brash confidence etc..

Had me belly laughing for a lot of it.. Though there is also a twisty element to some of the script surprises.. and enough meat to the story to also be more than just a joke setup joke style film..

Oh well, I might just go and have a look at it, even if there arn't any TGs to leer at...

I was at cinema last week and noticed its scheduled for march showing here..

Yet the DVD I have already is perfect quality !!!!
