this book is written by a political journalist named tim russert. he is by far my favorite journalist regardless of his political views. just an amazing, compassionate, down-to-earth man

he wrote a book before this called Big Russ and Me, about him and his dad and this is a follow-up with short memoirs of other people's stories about their fathers. just a great book

my pop died when i was 4, so dont have many memories. but my dad was as old-school as they get. 26yrs in the navy, a long shoreman working on the docks, hard working, hard drinking!!
when my parents knew he was dying, they delayed me starting school a year and i spent every single day with my dad, just going to The Pub, local place near my house. i remember whenever Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins scored, the house bought rounds. jeez, i drank more fountain sodas before i was 5 than any kid should legallay be allowed!!

whatever type of relationship you had with your dad, i am sure you will enjoy this book!!
