No worries Paulie! LOL

It wouldn't surprise me either. I just finished watching the finale so I will not post any remarks until later. Would love to hear what you thought of it seeing as you seem to be as big a Soprano's fan as I am!

Cheers,

Ashley

I never watched Sopranos, but this thread made me buy first season on DVD. I guess I have many years to catch up. I usually watch one season in a week, so in 2 months I may have seen them all?

I read about the angry fans for the last episode. So I went back to earlier in the season to watch a few episodes.

Have to say, it is some of the most boring TV I've seen in a long time. Nothing happens. If something does happen, you can see it coming a mile away. He's going to kill Christopher. I don't watch the show and I can tell that. It just bounces of the same formula around and around. The guy Tony sounds like a cartoon character. Didn't the joke of the mafia guy and a shrink get old 10 years ago?

What is the appeal to this show? Just that you got hooked all those years ago? Not getting it.

being around those type people for a good period of life, i can tell you that the show portays them in the most honest way. alot of mafia movies sort of offer them up as heroes where Sopranos actually shows how faulted these people can be
then also living in Northern New Jersey, some of the subtle little things are just amazing
i also think Tony is one of the funniest characters on tv, and if you watch the show consistently and then re-watch old episodes you catch little funny things that he says

Could be, but nothing happens. Falls into the category of NY movies/TV that I really don't like. All they do is talk talk talk. Like Woody Allen stuff.

Just not a show for me. I guess I prefer shows that are separated from normal life and have a bit of an imagined element with some good cinematography. Your saying this is very realistic and it is so plainly shot, which must be part of why it doesn't appeal to me.

saw the first episode of the new season of Sopranos last week....thought it was powerful and up to if not better than any of the season openners so far!

The scenes of Tony and christopher going back to their early days with the wine heist was hilarious and closing scene of Christopher having fallen off the smack wagon at the fair....all shown to a soundtrack of Tim Buckley's "Dolphins" was a thing of sheer cinematic beauty
