Walking back from my disappointing Soi kepsub experience strolled into Book store as left book on plane....

Came across Howard Mark's new book Senor Nice... Half way through at the minute and very funny!

recommend it if you have read his previous works!

I loved when he convinced the Old Bailey he was working for the Mexican Secret Service to infiltrate the Colombians and got found not guilty!!!

New book Senor Nice pretty much same same theme and covers bits of Mr Nice but in new way! bargain at 300 THB.. Crustasian if I finish in next few days will bring it up to you!

Did you know Bob Marley was half Welsh!!! That must be where he got his singing voice from!! Just can't picture him in the Welsh male Voice Choir tho..

Who Howard Marks or Bob Marley??? Both would fail a drugs test! Then again maybe the Welsh Rugby team need some kinda stimulant to get them playing better.... Good kick up the **** they need also!!!!!!!!

I read 3 books all while being in Thailand on different vacations.

All about BKK Hilton, not sure why i like to read about other people's misery but all were good, but the best 2 was, Damage Done and the latest one i read was Escape (About the only western who managed to escape from prison in Thailand.

If you like books of smugglers stories (and I do as it mixes risk taking, travel, adventure, and outlaw high life) then theres a few I could recommend.

Try 'Smokescreen' about Allen Long.. Superb 'nice guy' who stumbles into pot importing but with the kind of big balls and gusto to just crash planes etc.. Of course he soon develops a bad coke habit and ends up importing massive amounts from Columbia. Good in showing how you get lost in what you do etc.

Another which is an odd book is 'In search of Capt Zero' by Allen Wiesbecker. This one is a mixture of flashbacks to his time as a dope importer (much of it done at sea) combined with a real journey he made in search of a lost friend into central America combines with a Surf travelogue as the guy is a surf bum now. He was one of the original writers and people behind Miami Vice and the 3 elements of surfari, search for lost buddy (who it seems is lost in more ways than one) and memoirs of a dope smuggler works well. He has a new book out that got pulled by publishers and I have actually swapped some email with him a little. Hes an interesting (if kooky) old fella. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it.
