The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford(2007)

On at JungCeylon next week and it's a bumnumbing 160 minutes. I like a good western so any comments on whether it's worth seing. I've seen a review elsewhere saying some people have walked out during the movie!

Havent seen it mate but, I have also heard of people walking oiut after half an hour. Guess Ill wait for the DVD.

Would like to see it - people complained back in the day about Once Upon A Time In The West's long drawn out (dramatic mood setting) opening sequence which is now considered classic cinema.

I heard a negative review that stated it was long and boring. Very introspective. Not much action. Great cinematography. Let us know if you decide to go.

Yes I've read that it's too long and boring in parts but then I've also read that some critics consider it possibly Pitts' finest ever performance...though personally I've never rated him as a great actor. It all comes down to the individuals' opinion anyway.

I'll read a synopsis of a movie but then I won't take much notice of the film critics reviews. I remember they pretty much slated The Fifth Element when it first came out but I loved that movie.

Don't know why some directors have this obsession with making very long movies. The latest Pirates of the Caribbean was way too long for me and did get very boring in parts and could have been at least 30 minutes shorter.

On the other hand, probably my favourite movie of all time, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is VERY long yet I wouldn't have minded if it was even longer! "If you're gonna shoot, shoot! Don't talk!" Brilliant. The over-the-top duel scene in the cemetery at the end is a classic....and here it is>>>

I'm sure I'll go see the Jesse James movie on one of these rainy afternoons just to see if it's as boring as some people say.

Just watched a documentary about the making of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. First time the bridge was blown up the cameras weren't rolling and the Spanish Army had to totally rebuild it and do it again...LOL.

They don't make westerns like The GB+U anny more...but I'll be sitting through the Jesse james flick.....some good actors in there so if the scripts half decent should be worth watching

Ok so I saw this move at the film festival, and had it not been opening night I would of left 1/2 way through it. I was expecting a good old fashion western but other than the opening couple minutes there was nothing western about it. It really went into Jesse James mind and showed how he was going crazy, pretty boring but it depends what you are looking for. As far as Brad Pitt's best performance, well I don't think he is a good actor so ya he was better than other films but he still sucked. I think Casey Affleck was great in this movie..
Again just my opinion as I was looking for an action western shoot up stlye movie and got a sappy heart felt mind numbing very long movie that dragged on and on, sort of like my post...
