I still havent found it in Patong... but I am looking for it. I think it was voted as the best tv show in Sweden last year. (Mind you, Sweden is probably few years after US)

The was a guy in OTOP who had it last september. The back row furthest from the road, about 2 or 3 sections in. In an all white shop! He had that and quite a few other American and UK tv series.

McNulty loves Jamesons. As do I. Bunk is pretty good too.
Dominic West is aparently playing the villain in Punisher War Journal.
You finished w/ season five already? I hear it was great.

I've seen them all. Great last episode. My all-time favourite along with Nip/Tuck. The Wire demands attention as it is more like a novel in pacing and multiple story-paths. But it is all worth it. Acting, script and dialog are all top-notch.
A couple of favourite quotes(and there are many more);
McNulty comes home to his girlfriend really drunk
GF:What's the most useless thing on a woman?
McNulty: A drunken Irishman.
GF:But you're not exactly Irish, are you, McNulty?
McNulty: I've had fourteen shots of Jameson, how's that for green!
The Bunk, Lester and McNulty, drunk in the bar
Bunk: I'm just a humble motherf****r with a big-ass d**k.
Lester: You give yourself too much credit.
Bunk: Okay then. I ain't that humble
Also, the scene in the first season where McNulty and the Bunk reenact a murder using only variations of the f-word must be one of the best scenes ever.

they play a lot of pogues tracks. i loved the wake in the bar and they played "body of an american" ...great scene.
i was in a bar on sunday and got drinking with a few teachers from baltimore on vacation. they couldn't believe i was into the wire as it's not aired in the uk on normal tv.
one of the guys went on to explain how one of his students was shot right in front of him coming out of school!
