Theres some really really clever stuff in some of the later Batman works, stuff about the nature of personality, can bad deeds be done in the name of good, what is 'sanity', etc etc etc..
Since the movie I have found that you can torrent all kinds of comics dead easy.. I put up a link to Arkham Asylum earlier (I tend to like the more 'artwork' graphic styles over inks) and I have torrented 'The Killing Joke' etc.. With so much good material for future confrontations it does make the loss of Ledger from the role a real shame.

After the first week WALL-E was released, IMBD had it rated at 9.3.....
WALL-E the best movie ever? I don't think so. It is still rated 8.8 which makes it number 25 on the all-time list. RIDICULOUS! It doesn't even belong in the top 1000 movies of all time.
The Dark Knight is a great movie. Best of 2008 so far. Maybe the best superhero movie of all time. Also, quite possibly an Oscar-winning performance by Heath Ledger, who will be nominated for this movie, for sure. But best movie ever? Not by a long shot!

Groundhog Day is also very high on my all-time list. Definitely Bill Murray's best movie. it really blew my mind when I saw it.
52 First Dates is a very similar premise, and a very fun and funny movie, but not on the same level as GHD, IMHO.

Not a ****ing hope..
I mean I liked it.. Its actually one of the best (MO) superhero films done, but against the greats, Citizen Kane, Apocalypse now, Godfather (and maybe II), Scarface, and a long list of others..
Will we remember it in 5 years ?? In that company its an HBO special.. As good as it is..

gets 5 stars from me as its as good as it gets within its genre...but I've given my 5 stars rating to at least 20+ films........as LiL says there are many more deserving titles for "Best Ever" but I will say its the best I've seen so far this year

I agree with all the praise here. I think that Nolan will have to work hard to top this one in the 3rd and final act. Memento, the Prestige, Batman Begins and this one (well Insomnia was good but not great).
And what about casting? He sure knows how to get the right actors...I mean, to use class actors in the important supporting roles also.
I'm guessing he can do like James Cameron after this and get > 200 M USD to do whatever crazy project he wants...hopefully Nolan won't take 12 years off to shoot underwater documentaries though
Btw, Imdb's ratings shouldn't be seen as a benchmark. The same as the Academy awards, imo
five out of five stars
