Off to the Phillipines- need advice

Hey Guys

Im off to the phillipines in the next 3-4 weeks for work.
Will be staying 7 days, probably dedicate a few hours a day to work.
Any ways, just want few opinions on where to go, and what to do as i have not been there before.
Will probably be staying in Manila, also is there anything i need to watch out for, as i have heard a few nasty stories about the place.

Cheers in advance

Jaysen

I've spend 2 nights in manila, so no expert.
Always take a meter taxi, just say "metro" before you step in, they are dirt cheap. If possible ride the LRT, especially late afternoon, Manila is one big traffic jam.
Manila baywalk is nice for dinner and a few beers, listening to live bands.
About 10pm starts the fun upstairs in LA café. Live bands and lots of cute freelancers. Don't bother downstairs, quality of women is low and hard to get a beer.
I didn't go to the gogo's, but there are some opposite LA café and any cab can take you to the EDSA complex.
For shopping go to Baclaran market, take the LRT.
My best advice; go to AC if possible.

Makati has some lovely ladies and high end go go bars. This is the business district of Manila. Flamingoes is a nice go go and there is a pool bar/go go (Raffles I think) on the second floor right across the street.

EDSA is a big complex full of bars and go gos, like a small Nana Plaza.

Second floor of LA Cafe has pool tables, live music after 10PM, dance floor, lots of decent ladies and some stunners. Food is not great though.

the island of Boracay is worth a visit if you're into water sports. It's a short 1 hour flight from Manila. I've been there a few times and it's great for unwinding. Don't forget to pack a lunch, if you know what I mean....

Not sure that i willmake it to AC though, probably stay in and around manilla whilst conducting interviews, depends on how much free time i have after works done.
