GF Hotels in Siem Reap
I'll be coming from Bangkok and will have already spent a long time travelling so Siem Reap is as far as I'll go. Can anybody recommend guest friendly hotels for me please?
I'm not really sure what to expect of Cambodia as it's my first time and I'm used to Patts. If you have any experience of taking more than one guest back to the hotel at the same time, then I would consider that particularly useful information
Thanks Lads. I'll be sure to give you a report when I get back.

The Two Dragons was guest friendly when I was there in 2005.Sorry,not sure about more than one guest.Friendly staff but very basic accomadations.
They can set you up with a guide for the temples.(most hotels can.)
The owner runs a Cambodia forum. He's very knowledgable on the area, but had no interest in providing any P4P advice when I was chatting with him.
Since you mentioned Patts..........Siem Reap is not really a mongering destination like Phnom Penh,so if that's a big part of the trip, you may be disapointed. The temples are worth the trip though.
Hope this helps

The hotel that I stayed at in Siem Reap was the Golden Orange Hotel located about a block back from the river. It’s a real nice 4 story hotel owned by an American married to a Khmer. It’s similar to Flamingo’s (in Phenom Penh) with a full restaurant and outdoor bar with pool table (no swimming pool though) is guest friendly and has hi-speed internet. For you non-smokers they even have a non smoking floor. I had a double room for $20 per night.
Their website is: Home Page
Also have a couple of hotel pictures and Ankor pic's on my trip report:

Hope this helps...have a great trip and look forward to your TR

I would second the Golden Orange, I think we paid $25 a night and it's a cracking hotel. Location is a little bit out from Bar Street but only a dollar or two in a moto.
It is GF and there are girls around in Siam Reap. The whole bar scene is a bit discreet and the girls can afford to be picky, but they are there.

Is it far to Ankor?

Ankor is not far at all, 10-15 mins. Get a good guide, who will get you a car, and he will take you to the places that are not covered by the masses. I was there in April this year, forget chasing any skirt. Too much else to see and eat.

We got a moto (tuk-tuk) for the day and he took us to Angkor, showed us the right temples and was generally a decent guy. That cost us $10 but we tipped him $5.
As far as not chasing any skirt goes, well, you get thrown out of Angkor at 6pm; what else are you going to do?

By the time I finished climbing all over the temples, a feed and a score of ankors at the red piano bar, I was shot.

My MO in SR is to get out to the temples nice and early before sunrise....watch the sun come up over Angkor or one of the smaler wats....then head out to the outer wats
back in to the hotel by about 2pm for a swim, massage and nap.....as the temples are riddled with tourists anyway by about midday.....then back out for to the temples for sunset
gals are easily found in town at sgharkeys bar and martini.....plus plenty of decent falang skirt about as well

Golden Orange is proving impossible to contact either via their own website or any agents. Looks like it's going to be a long distance phone call to them.
Otherwise Angkorland will have to do. I didn't really want to pay so much for the hotel when I know that accomodation can be found so much cheaper. I won't be spending much time there either. That said, the website shouts value for money. clearly a hotel like this would cost a whole lot more anywhere else in the world.

Yes I'd submitted at the website too. I eventually called them to book it. Turns out that nobody had checked emails for a while.

Looks alright the bar scene looks do able, and there seems to be enough day time activities.
Are the bar girls attractive? Or should you go to Happy pizza first and then get a girl?
