Philippine calling cards
I was just looking around for Philippine calling cards. Calling form the US to the PI. I have been buying these $5 calling cards here but I get ripped off if I dont use the card all in one shot. Does anyone have a source that they have been using. Would like to get opinions from others.

Theres so many VoIP apps now that really make things dirt cheap.. I put 25 EUR on my skype account months ago and its mostly still there.
Now with cell phones having wifi and voip apps (gizmo is a really smart advanced app does so much more then skype but more complex) you can just hit a hotspot and start voip calling for cents a min. Gizmo even offers 100% free calls between registered gizmo users even to landlines.

They dont need them, or to know anything about it.. VoIP isnt just PC to PC now.. Get some skypeout (or gizmo or voipbuster) credit and its PC to cellphone, or (advanced wifi enabled) cellphone to cellphone.. Hell with some systems you can cell to local VoIP gateway to cell..
This is assuming your calling her mostly..

Philippines € 0.161 € 0.185 Philippines - Mobile € 0.202 € 0.232 Philippines-Cebu € 0.161 € 0.185 Philippines-Manila € 0.161 € 0.185 Gizmo rates Philippines 0.170 | 0.190 VoIPBuster similar.. Skype is probably the simplest.. Gizmo is much more fully featured and if you both have computers and use the service you get free outbound calls to 'registered numbers' buts is a much more complex app due to it doing so much more (voicemails, call forwarding to mobiles, gateways, etc etc etc).. I find skype is usually clearer then international calls on my mobile..

The Skype is all great but what if your not at a PC? I suppose you could always have a prepaid card for those times. I have had a few calls from the UK with Skype and it was not that clear. BUT that was last year so Im sure the quality has improved.

If you have a mobile that supports it you can run skype on a lot of smartphones now too..
Gizmo runs on PDA's and smartphones.. Just need be near either a wifi point or have a cheap data plan and a fast data connection (dont know what the US is like.. 3G works fine)..
