Australian woman to face firing squad.

Vietnam seems to have a lot of things going for it. But leniency on drug offenses does not make the list. Not that anyone is stupid enough to actually get involved in these activities... but how easy is it to let your guard down? Stick has a story about one guy who was smart enough to check his shaving kit prior to boarding an airplane with a newfound Asian ladyfriend. Found smack so he did the smart thing and de-assed the area. (Sorry, I do not have an hour to hunt down the link.)

But this stuff needs to be in the back of one's mind.

There seems to be plenty of people not getting the message, and one or two get topped every year. It does seem to be those of Asian descent that pay the ultimate price though, for whatever reason.

I always end up feeling sorry for them too, rightly or wrongly.

$15,000 for doing the courier, for someone with financial problems may take the risk for that good payment. But even if she got out of Vietnam, Australia customs also seems to be very efficient. (I have Mai Chob's story in mind, he was searched and questioned just because he was shooting with me in Phuket)

I have not heard that story (from memory) about MC.
I'd be interested to hear how shooting in Phuket, could cause dramas at Sydney airport.

Sniffer dogs working the baggage halls etc, yes I guess it's only half of their problem getting out of Asia in the first place.

I often think that these people are fitted up[ to get caught before they start. If the customs get the girl with a kg of smack in her shoes they may not get the guy checking in behind her with 20kg in his suitcase...

The residue from smoke during shooting will linger in your clothes and shoes.A small drop of gun oil will do the same.The sniffers can pick out even the smallest amount.

i think a more plausable reason why the sniffer dogs get excited at the smell of mai chobb is the smell of many sexy thai laydee on him still lingering!
