How to get to AC? Please help!
Hi all,
Having read several great threads from experienced BM I am going to visit AC.
I will be travelling form Phuket and wondered which is the best route to take and which airline.
Is Clark the airport nearest to AC? ....or can you fly into Manila and make you way from there?
If I have missed this info on a thread could you please point me in the right direction.
Thanks for any help and advice in advance.
Bramston.

Looking at their website, Air Asia fly to KL and you then get a connecting flight onto Clark. Never been myself so can't really assist much more.
Be patient though, as a few BMs have been to The Philippines and can assist.
Welcome to AirAsia.com...now everyone can fly...

Do a search on "Angeles" - plenty of info - my TR's are here:-
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/bo...hlight=angeles
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/bo...hlight=angeles
If traveling from Phuket - best is go on Air Asia or Tiger Air but will have a 1 night stop over in KL or Singapore respectively.
It is possible to get to Manila on Thai Airways then a 2000 Peso 2 hour+ taxi ride from Manila to AC.

Thanks Dawsey!...think KL might be the one.
K2- Great TR's!...very helpful info.
I checked out Cebu Pacific a few days ago and on there route planner they suggest there is a upcomming flight from BKK to AC,...that would make thing easier.
Thank again!

I am in AC right now.
did the Air Asia flight from Phuket to KL, spent one night there, then on another Air Asia to Clark.
Clark is 10 minutes of taxi ride from Angeles, cant get any closer unless they figure out a way to land a waterplane in the hotel swimming pool.
Going back same way and staying one night in KL before arriving in Phuket.

Interesting... but I think most BM's are more interested in your AC experiences than i your flying. Post a TR.
Bramston, sorry for highjacking the thread.

Sorry I dont do trip reports.
Mostly because I think K2 covered the basics to get here and have a good time, and no talk about girls and bars will be the same for everyone anyway.

I went from here to KL and Kl to AC via Air Asia also. Great to fly into AC directly without the hassle of Manila. Also, most important, try staying at the Pacific Breeze Hotel....IMHO, best htel for the money by far in AC. Just got back from there two weeks ago and had a great time.
If you elect to go thru KL, my suggestion is to book Malaysia Airlines to KL and return from here. That way you can make the connecting flight back from AC and won't have to spend another night in KL.

The last couple times I went to AC I flew into Manila then did the taxi ride. Now the taxi ride to AC is easy but make sure you have enough time to get back to Manila. The traffic there is murder. Almost missed my flight back to BKK on trip. Gave myself plenty of time too.

Ok...its a bit off topic but have you thought through your visit to AC? AC is one big sh*thole. No beach. Expensive accomodation. Girls are chubbier than Thais. Food is crap and does not compare to Thailand and is expensive. The one shopping centre it has is SM mall and that as incredibly limited options for things to buy. No cheap massage places. Drinks were cheap a few years ago but now are overpriced and the bars are being raided more regularly with arrests of customers and girls! Girls dont even go topless in the bars either. I have never enjoyed my time there!
No Thank you Ill stick with Surabaya or Pattaya thank you!

Wow, I have fun every time I go there. I have been to a few topless places and the drinks did not seem that pricey. The price for the birds tends to be cheaper as well. I will say that there is not a whole lot to do there, and the food is shitte.

The beach thing is a big factor for me and from what i have read it seems there are few things to do during the day.
I am having 7/8 weeks at xmas in phuket and thought a trip away for 4/5 days would be a bit of a change( I have been to pattaya and Bkk many times and still enjoy every minute).....plenty of time to decide yet!
Thanks for your input.

Ref beach: Highway to Subic is finished, think its about an hours drive...
Ref Food: There are good food outlets, just have to find them.
Dollhouse cafe makes good food. Subdelicious does too.
SM Mall has all the US fast food restaurants you can imagine, if youre into that.
Ref Girls.
I thought on my last trip that the flipper birds werent as good looking as thais by a large margin, but this time I had to change that view. On average, there are probably as many good looking chicks there as here. Remember though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I have a pretty high standard in my own view.
I definitely going back again.

Yes, it is a sh**hole, and yes, the food is not as good as Thailand.....you're not saying anything that hasn't been said many times on this forum. But I happen to like certain things there. Rooms are NOT expensive, the girls are MUch cheaper (or so my friends tell me), and it's just a refreshing change from Phuket. Would I like to live there?...no...overall, I like Thailand better. But, it is nice for a change. So, if you don't like it, don't go.
Cheers

Matt, I used Cebu Pacific 4 times this past mth.
2 flights delayed by up to 1 hour each...no announcements???????..GRRRRR
I'm not sure when you used em, but they have a new fleet of A320's now.
I'd use em again...cheap enough & they cover many areas.

Thanks for that, I was toying with the idea of a few days there but after reading your post I think I will stick to Phuket and maybe do a few days in Samui instead.
