Has anyone done a Visa turn around trip from Chiang Mai.When I was there last a travel agent told me they run a mini bus north to the border.Anyone done this trip?

I don't know if you end up in the same place, but I did it with a mate of mine in January from Chiang Rai. That took less than an hour and was a nice trip out. Very busy at border crossing but only took 10 mins each way to do the paperwork. Goods for sale in the market are cheaper than in LOS.

Great.I can now dove tail in a turn around after the big Hash event in October.

Wouldn't be any good to me if I was up there then !! Last time I tried, I couldn't get in one

While up in Chiang Mai managed to get on a tour which also did the Visa Turn around trip.

The trip was a bit touristy and if future would simply get a taxi organised to do the trip in private.

They allow you over the border to visit the busy market area for a few hours.
