What's new nighttime fun in Chiang Mai?

Doing the annual pilgrimage soon. What's new and exciting up there over the past year? Looking for GF-safe places. Anything like Good View or live bands or a locals disco.

If you are there before April 9, I heard about some kind of festival that is going on between now and then. Yes, I know this is cryptic, but just trying to help... Some kind of food or pre-Songkran festival IIRC...

I found the one falang run go-go in Chiang Mai to be a right rip-off with Beer Lao at B125 a bottle. Strange i only stopped for the one beer and left, although I did meet 2 ex-Phuket girls in there.

Saw Lanna perform last night (famous thai pop singer) and chatted with her after at her mom's restuarant. Nice girl. Good view still good. Guess I will do a trip report after. We've heard of a few newer places and will give them a go.

i heard V club is a hot spot (think i got the name),its near the shopping centre(one of them ),off on the road towards airport.
not 100% sure of location,never did go,but heard many people talking about it.

i do rate this place,although it has its fair share of gays and tourists........not that ive got anything against them.

hardly recognised the place when i walked in there a few weeks back,still a nice size but they have made it a hell of a lot smaller from what i remember.
for me the the music does it,some of the most upfront beats ive heard in LOS, other than guest dj nights in bkk,samui or phangan.maybe not everyones cup of tea,but i do like my house music.
i was ranting about it to my girl,who swears by patong music,feck knows why.
i was so moaw i couldnt find it 1st night,although id been there sh1t loads of times(it was a while back mind ),and we did pass it a couple of times,now i know......so i was getting it in the ear... ,bubble,very fukcing good'........sarcy little biatch.........when we finally made it she loved,talking about it to her mates,maybe she was telling them about the p1ssed up state i was in.

but bubbble deffo worth a look IMHO

No gays or LB's when I was there 3 years ago ... shame the place has gone downhill like that - hope ATM can give us an update - still I doubt I will be heading north for a good while.

Will be back p Chiang Mai early Jul. I'll stick with my fav's on Loi Kroh road I think. Never been to Bubbles but the FPs and LB's is enough to keep me in my old haunts

No updates on nightlife from me. Too busy with songkran daytime stuff and trip to the village we didn't bother this year.

Should have included this link to some images I took. Gives you some idea of the fun mayhem that goes on up there. Actually this year it was a little quite as it was cloudy and not too hot. We were getting cold pretty fast.
